Frontier employee: Airline told cleaning crews to stop wearing masks ( Ebola )
KDVR TV ^ | October 17, 2014 | Justin Joseph

A Denver-based Frontier Airlines employee blames the company for panicking after an Ebola sickened passenger traveled on one of its airplanes.

Now, the employee, speaking anonymously, says the airline is putting employees at risk.

“Frontier hasn`t done enough to train cleaners to get us the proper cleaning solution to clean the plane,”...

“I think I should be able to wear a mask to protect myself,” the employee said.

...

“They`re telling us now we can`t wear the mask,” the employee said. “Management said because the passengers would be freaked out by it.”

Well, I don’t know about that

What I do know is that anyone, especially congressmen, assuming that no will come around and do his job as president, is wrong

Yes, there are many infared temperature detectors in the commerical market market place.

However, the problem is simply using a thermal scan to a potential Ebola patient is the required "time on target" and the close physical distance (6 inches ?) required.

Ignoring these realities yields data that is almost worthless.

Indeed, relying on "thermal data" alone (regardless on how it's collected) to scan for Ebola is a fool's errand.

I can assure you that if this was a "Republican scandal", as opposed to being owned by that Kenyan "bastard" Obama, the NYT, Sandia National Labs, Yale and Princeton scientists would DESTROY (everyday in the national media) the PATHETIC ARGUMENTS now being offered by "Obama Ebola Traitors".

I have small scatter rugs, on top of the carpeting, linoleum and wood floor (a small section) and I forget what color my wall to wall is.

She does dishes like at a Chinese reastaurant ... almost as soon as your done with your plate (even though she’s still eating), she slips out of her chair, takes it to the sink, rinses quickly and sits back down quicker’n a fly fleeing the swatter.

I am similar, although I no longer rinse plates until everyone is done. It annoyed my family.

I do wash every utensil, bowl and pan as soon as it is finished being used while I am cooking. That way, almost all my clean up is done before the meal is served. It’s a holdover from the days when we had few pans and bowls and had to eat in the kitchen. I don’t want to eat in full view of dirty dishes.

I use those waiting times while something is heating in the microwave, for example, to quickly clean some corner that has been irritating me. I have friends who are similar.

I would not mind a cleaner wearing a mask. Perhaps they have allergies. It is the quality of the work that’s important.

Those washable scatter rugs protect whatever is beneath them.

I’m not Filipina. But I approve of your wife!

My mom’s family was from the foot hills of the Allegheny Mnts and you never saw a tighter run ship than what these women sailed.
Must be the German ancestry.

I haven’t flown in a few years so things may have changed but since when are the cleaning crews under the public’s eye?

13% don’t get a fever. Up until a week ago the CDC said 101.5 was the tell. Then they lowered it to 100.5. Temperature can’t be relied upon.

In other Ebola strains, 30-50% go hemorrhagic but only 18% with this strain do. The CDC’s 21 day monitoring will only take care of 90%. The WHO’s 42 day monitoring will only take care of 98% so there’s still a 2% chance of it developing after that.

Perception will be a much larger problem than the disease. Our economy could possibly suffer greatly due to fear.....not reality.

I think if you are the last people deplaned...you can observe the cleaning crew starting their work...I seem to recall seeing them on a flight I took in this past year

I sure would not want to own Frontier stock unless it was to short them. Companies are going to get hammered along with the rest of us.

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senator and get his contact information and call him / her office directly. You can also call or go to their local offices.

I believe decisive response is urgent because you can’t put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we don’t have reliable, enough or any.

Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House.

One is from Chicago, another is from Kentucky, and the third is from New Orleans.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The New Orleans contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil.

“Well,” he says, “I figure the job will run about $9,000. That’s $4,000 for materials, $4,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me.”

The Kentucky contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, “I can do this job for $7,000. That’s $3,000 for materials, $3,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me.”

The Chicago contractor doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, “$27,000.”

The official, incredulous, says, “You didn’t even measure like the other guys. How did you come up with such a high figure?

“The Chicago contractor whispers back, “$10,000 for me, $10,000 for you, and we hire the guy from Kentucky to fix the fence.”

“Done!” replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the Government Stimulus plan worked.

Remember... Four boxes keep us free: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.

- “I love my country, it’s the government I’m afraid of.”
