Dracula Untold Official Trailer #1 (Hero of Europe, muslim killer)
crew ^ | Summer 2014 | Crew

First movie that focusses on the real Vlad Dracula.

Fought for his country against the muslim beheaders.

Then he impaled them all.

I think the "thing" in this movie is that he gets so desperate in his fight against the muslims, that he becomes a vampire.

The “untold” story of Dracula about the 781st time on the big screen.

LOL

Filmed in Northern Ireland like Game of Thrones. It has the cloudy misty look.

In real history, he was betrayed by the boyars and given up to the moslems. The boyars were the landed gentry who thought they could pay off the Turks for peace. Our boyars, the CLintons and their progressive ilk should take notes.

The supernatural bat guano kinda takes away from the actual achievement

Yeah. I liked this one, a lot. The movie respects the history and the motivation of Count Dracula. The movie has a real nice feeling that conveys what medieval eastern Europe might have been like. It gives proper historical significance to his reign.

And then it ties the past to the present. Did the critics miss the point that the forces of good vs evil are alive today?

I have no idea what movie the critics were watching.

If he starts sharpening long stakes, then yeah, maybe.

My opinion is the Christian aspect of it and the portraying of good and evil is the reason the critics are rating this movie low.

That's good to know but from the trailer it looks like he makes a deal with the devil for his powers. How does the movie turn that into a Christian value? Does he turn away from the devil in the end?

First, I will try to not ruin the movie with spoilers.

The movie isn’t black and white with the characters. Like in our lives, characters in the movie make choices.

A good movie will have “character development”.
More complex than, this guy is good and this guy is bad.

All I will say is in the beginning of the movie you have Christianity and Muslim jerks.
Then the storytelling continues.

If you’re expecting historical accuracy, this movie ain’t it.
If you’re expecting a biblically correct lesson in life living, this movie ain’t it.

Good movie with a vampire bent.

according to Wikipedia (Vlad the Impaler article), I was wrong, in that his father did hand him over to the Turks at 13 years of age.

Later in life he was alternatively screwed over by friends, family, other Christian rivals and Boyars. His main imprisonment was at the hands of the Christian Hungarian King, and boyars supported his Turkish puppet brother against him.
