Horne: State won't appeal; same-sex marriage legal in AZ
KPHO ^ | 10/17/14 | Steve Stout

Posted on 10/17/2014 11:08:07 AM PDT by Oliviaforever

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne on Monday said the state would not appeal a U.S. District Court judge's ruling that strikes down Arizona's ban on gay marriage.

Horne said that any appeal of Judge John Sedwick's ruling would be an exercise in futility and that the only purpose it would be to "waste taxpayers' money."

Horne said that while he disagrees with the ruling, based on legal conclusions he issued an email to the 15 county clerks in Arizona stating that they can immediately begin issuing marriage licenses for same-sex couples.

He said he believed there were about 10 same-sex couples at the Maricopa County Clerk's Office lined up to get marriage licenses during his news conference. There is no waiting period to get married in Arizona, he said.

Next up: Legalized pedophilia and incest.

The next up is already in progress; transgender normalization. CA and other states/cities (I.E., Houston) already have transgenders going to any restroom they want to - starting in kindergarten.

This is also a perfect case point in why very, VERY few Republicans get my vote nowadays. Why vote for a GOP-er who enables the same depraved agenda as a Dem?

I truly hope all these Republicans who’ve caved on this choke to death.

Only three of the seven justices that imposed gay marriage in Iowa were voted out. The GOP did no follow-up so gay marriage in Iowa stands. And the Iowa courts carry on as before.

” Only the GOPe ever surrenders on an issue, the left never does”

Exactly.

Same crap that happened in Oregon. The vote of the people was ignored, because the AG disagreed with us.

To me, this is grounds for impeachment. The AG takes an oath to upload the laws of the state, regardless of whether he agrees with them personally.

There's nothing to prevent changing those Federal judges if a wave of anti leftist feeling takes over the counry.

And why are Holder and his chief aides resigning? They know public sentiment is changing and they can't continue doing what they have been doing. All leftists are already under MUCH pressure. What will a few more big scandals to?

My feeling is that there are still some major scandals around the corner which is one reason why Obama just brought in a political lawyer to handle Ebola. This guy will likely straddle several issues now that he's installed (ACA and general immigration problems being one of them).

When the first of these couples ends up in Maricopa County Family Court, they’ll rue the day they got “married”. Lawyers are salivating at the new business opportunities.

The GOP did no follow-up

I don't think it's up to the GOP. It's up to the people. They are the ones who are going to have to decide on whether or not to abide by conservative morals and to vote accordingly.

The flailings of the leftists may just end up convincing enough people that radicals don't have the answers. Especially if things start really getting dangerous. And gay marriage activism will lose its appeal and more conservative judges will begin to right the ship.

All I can do is sit out the TX U.S. Senate and land commissioner races.

If He weren’t omniscient God might be waiting just to see what unexpected depravity the American people will conjure up next.

Look him up. Horne is not GOPe. As Superintendent of Schools he fought against the laRaza chicano studies program in Tucson schools. He has also fought the good fight on other conservative issues.

The left-wing press cooked up some controversy about him (they do that a lot in AZ and have managed to force out several GOP governors) and he lost in the primary so he is not up for re-election.

Rush has also observed that the overturn of natural marriage is a lost cause. AZ is in the 9th circus so they will lose there. If the Supremes do take it up, it is clear that Kennedy and probably Roberts will vote with the gaystapo.

He may not be GOPe, but the controversy wasn’t cooked up. He was having an affair, with an employee, on the clock, at lunch, got into a car accident, and tried to run from it. He might have gotten off if he as a Dem, but it is his own fault.

Where did you hear the details about this? I do not believe anything I see on TV news or newspapers about Republicans.

The AZRepublic for example has turned from middle of the road newspaper to typical left-wing Democrat house press MSM.

So you can surrender to the commies if you want, I won’t.

The left lost Citizens United in in the Supreme Court, do you think that stopped them? Of course not. The left lost a lot of gun rights cases in the Supreme Court, does that ever stop them? Nope.

Only the GOPe surrenders on the issues.

The first amendment won’t stop the left from shutting down speech they don’t like, even monitoring and controlling sermons from the pulpit. Isn’t it nice to know that the GOPe will just as easily abandon free speech?

Appeals don’t do much good in this country anymore. When it comes to Feral “judges” and homosexual “marriage”, the fix is in. They’ve all “evolved” as ordered by the Obama regime.

It is only a matter of time until the GOPe surrenders on every big issue.
