There is almost ZERO question in my mind that Michael Osterholm, from CIDRAP and UMinn, should be put in charge of this reponse. He’s been on these issues since the mid-90s. And NOBODY has listened to him.
I listened to him at the Johns Hopkins ebola conference earlier this week. He seemed more 'in touch' with what was and was not going on than the others.
That said, he is counter to the PR narrative. Friedan, et al, stayed on-script. Even when they were contradicting themselves in the same statements, they stayed true to the narrative. That also keeps the issue political.
