Despite outrage from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democrats about billionaires like the Koch brothers donating to the GOP, statistics show Democrats are outraising Republicans this election season.
Sheila Krumholz of the Center for Responsive Politics estimated, "the Democratic senatorial campaign committee has raised $111 million compared to $82 million for their Republican counterpart."
Even when you take all sources of money, from all donors for all races, the Democrats still lead. "It's about $595 million for the Democrats, and about $450 million for the Republicans," Krumholz said.
In the run-up to the Nov. 4 election, the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee made a last minute push and just announced it raised $15.5 million in September, its best month ever.
Political analyst Michael Barone of the American Enterprise Institute said, "that's a change and it says that Republican contributors big and small are martialing to the cause."
Although the Democrats have enjoyed a money lead for some time, they still are asking for more cash.

If 20% spending difference equates to electoral success or failure, we are well and truly screwed.
Gee, stab the base in the back while spitting in their face and then wonder what happened?
Unexpected!
Of course they are. They’re scalping their billionaire and Hollyweird celebrity supporters and that’s not always a bad thing.
I wonder if the difference is because many conservative give directly to the candidate, and not to the Republican Campaign Committee?
I stopped giving about 2004 when they failed to close the border and were jacking up the spending.
Now they just blatantly attack half the base and wonder why the money does not come like it use to.
I suspect many well heeled former GOP contributors have stopped giving due to fear they or their businesses will receive intensive review by the IRS, SEC, and other agencies. If your were a property developer dependent on approvals from any federal agency in order to sell or develop a piece of property would you be making any campaign contribution that might anger this administration?
b/c if Dummy Braley loses, the long knives will be out for Michelle for screwing up her campaign appearance there....calling Braley "Bailey."
After all, now that she finally "likes" her country and has a bit of self-esteem after "years of oppression" in elite schools.....the Obama criminal vote fraud machine can't let her royal ambitions be tarnished...even if reading a campaign poster is beyond her meager intellect.
Good point!
Well, here’s another one where Faux News sounds further left than AP. Seeing as it’s written by someone who used to work for ABC News and CNN, never mind being a senior WH correspondent for NPR, I guess it ought not be surprising.
Most likely, but that wouldn’t matter to Mr. Angle.
The GOP doesn’t need it.
Obama is contributing millions of dollars worth of donations by being himself.
We saw what difference that made back then, didn't we? -- not
If conservatives just decided to get off their duffs, do their civic duty and vote, all the money the (D)'s raise would be as meaningless as it is mis-spent.
FReegards!
Duh. Isn’t that what the stimulus money and green subsidies to bankrupt companies was for in the end? Then they get the free advertising from the public teachers unions.
Hollywood billionaires contributing, worth...Billions.
Obama being hisself...priceless (for the republicans)
<<< I wonder if the difference is because many conservative give directly to the candidate, and not to the Republican Campaign Committee? >>>
I suspect that’s what many are doing these days. That’s good then the GOP can’t use our money to pick the RINO that THEY want elected.
If they buy this election they will have effectively bought the country. We will become totally Marxist/Muslim in less than a generation.
I really don’t care if the Bolshies waste their money. I give my money to Allen West’s PAC and let him decide where it goes.
What kills us is that tens of millions believe the old adage of the Democrats being for the “common man” and the GOP for “the rich.” People will always believe that.
