Obama: I Hugged and Kissed Emory Hospital Nurses and I Don't Have Ebola ...

White Press Secretary Josh Earnest answered questions today at the White House about why the president cancelled two out-of-state fundraising visits in order to meet with " cabinet agencies ” about the growing Ebola threat. The president rarely if ever cancels fundraisers so the maneuver certainly raised some eyebrows in Washington.

“The president was not able to host that meeting and travel at the same time,” his spokesman said. “If the president determines it’s time to return to the White House to fulfil his responsibilities as president and commander in chief…he will alter his schedule accordingly.”

His spokesman, however, also sought to assuage concerns that a mass Ebola outbreak is imminent in the United States. He reminded the public that the chances of that happening are exceedingly slim.

“The way that Ebola is transmitted is very clear,” he said. “And is something that is not likely to happen in the United States. Ebola is not like the flu….the only way that a patient can get Ebola [is through bodily fluids].”

A few hours later the president himself addressed the nation after meeting with his cabinet.

"We want to express concern for the two health workers who have been affected," he said. "The are selfless, they work hard, and they are often underpaid. So our thoughts and prayers are with them."

He emphsized the purpose of the meeting was to ensure "something like this isn't repeated." He then announced a new protocol he was instituting.

"As soon as someone is diagnosed with Ebola, we want a rapid response team -- essentially a SWAT team -- to be on the ground hopefully within 24 hours," he said. "If we do these protocols properly and we follow these steps and get the information out there, the likelihood of widespread Ebola [outbreak] in this country [is] very, very low." "I shook hands with, hugged, and kissed not the doctors but a couple of the nurses at Emory," he added, referring to a hospital famous for treating Ebola patients in Atlanta, Georgia. "I felt perfectly safe."

Cool! Obola must have immunity to Ebola. Send him to the Hot Zone with the 101st Airborne.

Slight correction: Send him to the Hot Zone instead of the 101st Airborne.

He certainly portrays himself as being very common. The lowering of the bar for the president. Sad thing is he doesnt appear to comprehend how low he looks.

A very ‘loving and romantic’ smooch. /s

They look like they just sort of bashed into each other.

I found some more info about his visit to Emory.

FLASHBACK: President Obama to meet with Emory Healthcare team during Ebola visit

Emory Report ^ | Sep. 15, 2014 | Laura Douglas-Brown

President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with Ebola experts from Emory as part of his Sept. 16 visit to Atlanta.

The president will visit the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention for an update on the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa and the U.S. response to it.

During Tuesday’s visit, Obama will meet with Emory University Hospital physicians as well as other healthcare workers involved with the treatment of Ebola patients here.

“Just when we thought our time in the spotlight had reached a crescendo, we are now being acknowledged with a special visit by President Barack Obama,” John Fox, president and CEO of Emory Healthcare, said in statement to Emory Healthcare employees on Monday afternoon.

Obama will visit the CDC “to thank the CDC and our Emory Healthcare team for their efforts in assisting the international Ebola crisis,” Fox said, praising the “heroic work” of Emory Healthcare staff on behalf of all patients.

Last month, Emory University Hospital became the first hospital in the United States to treat patients with Ebola virus disease. The two patients, both American citizens who became infected with the virus while providing humanitarian aid in West Africa, were cared for in a special isolation unit created in collaboration with the CDC to house CDC scientists and others exposed to infectious diseases while traveling abroad.

Dr. Kent Brantly, who arrived at Emory on Aug. 2 after being transported by air ambulance from Liberia, left Emory University Hospital on Aug. 21. Nancy Writebol arrived at Emory from Liberia on Aug. 5; she was discharged Aug. 19. The two were able to leave the hospital after Emory physicians determined, in collaboration with the CDC and state health departments, that they had recovered from Ebola virus infection and posed no public health concerns.

A third patient with Ebola arrived at Emory from West Africa on Sept. 9 and is being treated in the same isolation unit.

“While our decision to care for the American medical volunteers who contracted Ebola was made years ago as part of our Care Transformation Model, it was met with a mix of emotions — some fear, admiration, pride and respect,” Fox said. “As we rode the public reaction waves, one thing was for certain: We do not waver on our mission to care for those in need. These patients needed our help, and we were committed to helping them, together.”

So his visit was on Sept. 16th which was 22 days after the patients admitted on Aug. 2nd and fourth were discharged. But another one was admitted on Sept. 9th so his visit was well within the incubation period for anyone exposed to that patient.

I still think there's a lie behind his statements somewhere. Nurses he kissed never entered the isolation unit?

Is this statement true? Sure sounds like a lie Obama would let roll off his forked tongue just to be cool.

Simple logic.

If he had, the photos would be plastered all over TV and the internet.

I looked. Ain't there.

The last thing the country or the world needs is the president of the United States contracting this disease, regardless of how I feel about the job he’s doing.

The only proof we have that he even did it, is his WORD.

And we all know what that's worth.

Yes, they have and this turkey shouldn’t be using the nurses for the Dem political ambitions in the midterms.
