If the team gives in to this nonsense they will empower the idiots. And it is not about good or bad names, it is about power and control.
Me, me, me. I’ll end it in a few weeks - but I’ll need sweeping powers.
1) Close every airstrip in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone - by bombing, if necessary. Aid will be delivered by airdrop, with very clear instructions in English, the local language and in pictures.
2) NO ONE from West Africa will be admitted to this country without being in quarantine for 6 weeks. Yeah, you read that right - 6, count’em SIX weeks. There was a report that Ebola could take as long as 42 days to show symptoms after infection. Oh, and they have to pay for the quarantine. Don’t like it? Fine, you get shipped back, and you and the airline can argue about who pays for that. Further, the particular airliner used to transport either an Ebola patient or someone who refused quarantine will NEVER be allowed to land in the U.S. - no exceptions, EVER, I don’t care if they strip it down to bare metal and heat it to 1,000 degrees, never means never.
3) All of our troops in West Africa come home, right now, and go into individual quarantine for 6 weeks. We feed them well, give them cable and internet connections, nice showers, etc. The Army Corps of Engineers will be given whatever resources are necessary to put this into place in 2 weeks at some abandoned base in the middle of nowhere. Once the time is up, we let these folks out and give them 2 months off and $10,000 each to say thanks.
4) EVERYONE who has had any contact with an Ebola patient (or someone who has refused quarantine) will be in quarantine for 6 weeks. Same deal with food, cable, internet, showers. Maybe even put them in the same facility with the military to have a modicum of cost-savings. Pass a law that forbids employers from firing them, and which pays their wages in the meantime.
5) Fire Frieden and everyone on the federal payroll that gave him advice or backed his galactically-stupid statements.
6) Build a reserve of Level 4 biosuits and related equipment. Make sure that the CDC passes out SENSIBLE procedures to every hospital, clinic and medical practice in the country within a week.
7) Bolster research into vaccines and cures for ALL hemorraghic diseases (all the Ebolas, Marburg, the Hantaviruses, etc.).
8) Dumping DDT all over West Africa to kill the food supply for the fruit bats would help a bit, as would sending educational materials to those who survive Ebola over there about the extreme risk of continuing their burial practices.
My goal is to eradicate Ebola from the country in 6 weeks, and to keep it out for as much of forever as possible. This is pretty much the only way - and yet I know that NONE of this will be done by pResident Obola.

The unadulterated stupidity of Frieden and Obola are so extreme as to suggest a hidden purpose. All they had to do was ban flights and people from West Africa by Labor Day, when the outbreak was already serious. Easy-peasy...for someone with 2 functioning neurons.
