True... but angry citizens with phoned in bomb threats, threats of violence against airline officials, demonstrations, etc. could make the airlines cancel flights. I’m not saying I support those things. I just understand them.

Two of the contested Senate seats are in states adjacent to Texas: Arkansas and Louisiana. Texarkana and Shreveport are within less than three hours drive from Ground Zero. Both Landrieu and Pryor are in close races. The Democrats need to hold onto at least one, and likely both, of these seats to keep control of the Senate. If they slip behind their Republican opponents in the next few days, the State Department and the CDC will act decisively to ban flights to and from Liberia and nearby countries, as if Reagan or Eisenhower were still in the White House.
