HILLSBORO Jefferson County Recorder of Deeds Debbie Dunnegan said Tuesday that she used a poor choice of words on a post on her personal Facebook page that some are interpreting as an attack on President Barack Obama. I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military
having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the Constitution gives you the authority. What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe, Dunnegan said in her post from early last week. The group Progress Missouri posted Dunnegans status on its website on Friday under the headline JeffCo Recorder Asks Why Military Hasnt Ousted Obama Yet, saying that Jefferson County voters deserve better. Dunnegan said she merely wanted to know what oath the military took to protect the country from enemies both foreign and domestic. I meant no ill intent toward the president. I meant no ill intent toward anybody, she said. Dunnegan, a Republican, was elected as recorder of deeds in 2010 and is up for re-election next month. Her challenger is Mike Bone, a supervisor in the countys circuit clerks office. Something innocent and simple got twisted into a disaster because its an election, Dunnegan said. She said she left the post on her page and has received many responses to it, good and bad. As for how it could affect her chances for re-election, Dunnegan said, I think it could hurt it as much as it could help it.

What a dumbassed thing to post online—she should have known better than that.
To do what, exactly?
Is that any different that a good majority of things posted here on FR?
Is this how Freepers react when another forum posts precisely what is posted here?
She’s gone.
Counsel of desperation... You don’t want that Latin American “army = guardians of the State/constitution” stuff, because that idea is the rock of caudillism (strongman gov’t).
I think I know what dino intended with those words.
I think you’re both spot-on, at least insofar as ‘posting rhetoric’ of the latter comment.
But I also think she lit upon a good question: Is posting rhetoric ‘enough’?
(that’s a rhetorical question, but needs to be driven home more often).
I would also assert, as I’ve parroted ad nauseam prior, that the ‘domestic enemies’ are our neighbors, friends, family, coworkers, etc. I’ve severed relationships because of my strong Conservative views and have have no regrets (though it ‘is’ lonely over here).
Yep although much of what is posted is actually forwarded.
It would be interesting to see how old this person is. Some people darn near live their life on Facebook. The younger they are the more likely it seems that you will find things like this posted.
The article has her picture in it. I'm not a great judge of age but I'd guess she was in her 40's.
After looking at the photo I agree with you on the guess of her age. I'm a little surprised as usually it is much younger folks that are living life on Facebook. I tell the folks I know that do this to remember once you put it out there you can't truly take it back.
Agreed. In certain ways I agree also with dinodino, but am fascinated by the cognitive dissonance that sometimes gets displayed here on FR. A while ago there was a story about Bundy and his ‘disagreement’ with BLM (read FED), and I posited that I wondered when/where the next Lexington & Concord would take place and what would be the general reaction by the populace? Would it be: “To Arms, To Arms.” or would it be: “That idiot should have stood in bed.”?
If we cast aspersions on a woman for asking a question that ALL Freepers have asked, then are we not going to allow the temperature of the water we are in to reach boiling?
My mom's in her 60's and she's all over Facebook; my older sister got her hooked. She keeps up with a lot of people her age through social media.
I tell the folks I know that do this to remember once you put it out there you can't truly take it back.
Someone once told me, "Think twice before speaking, three times before emailing, and four times before posting." Words to live by, considering how many politicians have come to grief lately through Facebook and Twitter.
Not long ago...an active duty AF Colonel (since retired) and I were talking while on a Scout outing...
He lamented that he and many like him in the service were trying to figure out the “domestic enemies” portion of the Constitution...and what they could possibly do about it.
I didn’t vilify him for making the statement...I sympathized with him, because I feel the same way.
This administration is a totalitarian regime and few seem to give a damn...but ask the question and hoo boy...all of a sudden you’re deemed an idiot, moron and more.
Sounds like my mom. She was on Facebook long before i was. I could see her receiving these type of headlines if she was an elected official. LOL!!!!!
I doubt we would have or tolerate a Caudillo here. For the life of me I don’t understand why we have put up with the Klown for this long. I agree with her entirely. I do not understand why a group of generals haven’t taken a company of Marines to the White House and arrested the Klown.
So an intellectual discussion of constitutional authority is VERBOTTEN~! ????
I see...
Regardless of whether or not I agreed with the lady’s sentiment, it’s foolhardy to post it online. I believe we are all aware of this Administration’s aggressive overreach on Constitutional and privacy issues. Discretion is the better part of valor.
He has replaced those who would be likely to do so, the fighting leaders, with go-along get-along bureaucrats.
And a threat to the regime as well, bound for FEMA reeducation camp.
