Great story and all, but I wouldn’t want to depend on bikers. Completely undisciplined, probably substance abusers. Yeah they can beat you up in a bar if there’s 4-1 odds. That doesn’t mean they’ll stand up to someone who’s shooting back. No thanks.

“Back in the day” as “someone” here just said, I was riding a Moto Guzzzi Ambassador V750.
I was an absolute fool for ever selling it. Nothing. Not even the GoldWing I have today could match it for smoothness, torque, stability and - yes- running cool.
I recall on a blistering summer day idling at a RR crossing, wondering if my motor was getting hot I pressed my hand against the exposed valve cover.
It was only ~warm~ not even uncomfortably hot.
I hope someday soon to be able to buy back that memory - for 20X what I sold it.
I'm not sure what the next bike will be. I have been looking at the Victory and the new Indians...but just might buy a 'fixer upper'. I need something a little more plush than the hardtail I have been driving, just to get the Mrs. back on board.

Amen. I’ve been around the Hell’s Angels a little. It’s not just that these people are bad, they are friggin’ demented. And while they might get some recreational enjoyment out of beating the shi’ite out of ISIS scum, they aren’t going to travel to Iraq or anywhere else to do it. That would require effort and commitment. No way. But if the ISIS douche bags rolled up to their local watering hole, my money would be on the bikers...better armed and more psycho.
Oil coolers help a lot.
