The +diagnosis is low enough to keep the complacent complacent. Anyone with an appreciation for how dangerous a virus this is understands that an uncontrolled case like Duncan is a potential disaster, and retransmission is a catastrophe unfolding.

And unscreened, untested, unquarantined arrivals keep pouring in. Even at the current low +diag rate, more cases at random locations are just a matter of time - because nothing prevents it.

The exact opposite is about to occur. There are literally millions of hypochondriacs in the U.S. They won't all think they have ebola but many will just as soon as the flu season kicks in.
