CNN lays off New York staff of correspondent Christiane Amanpour in network-wide restructuring

The ax has fallen on the New Yorkers who work for storied foreign correspondent Christiane Amanpour.

CNN has canned Amanpour's entire New York City-based staff — four producers — as part of the troubled cable news channel's restructuring, sources said.

As I recall she didn't last long. I remember flipping by it one Sunday and seeing her waving her hands around way too much. At that moment I thought she probably wouldn't last.
