THIS sounds like a test for the Mythbusters...

Actually that was one of their episodes. They put a number of different caliber rounds inside a barrel then set it on fire...........The results were basically nothing more than what you would see from firecrackers........

I'm skeptical anyone actually has .22 ammo these days.

I'm well supplied, but running low. Our hardware store has some off brand for $4.50 for a box of 50.

If she was only lucky enough to be on Medicaid. Helo evacuations are free. ER bill won’t be so cheap either, though.

"Skeptical"

No, it's bullshit.

She's looking for a payday somehow, or covering for somebody elses shooting error who should not have had a gun.

If you hit the butt end of a .22 with a hammer, the bullet will travel no faster than about 50ft/sec.

And may not make it 50ft.

When I was a teenager we would cut plastic straws in half and stick a .22 in the end. We would then throw them like lawn darts. If they hit pavement they went off like a firecracker.

I’ve actually been on the nozzle in a room with rounds popping off. Scared the batshit out of mr but that’s it. Of course I couldn’t see anything just heard it . Louder than you would think.

It depends on the gun. If you have a round under the hammer, and either the safety off or the safety isn’t the kind that puts something between the pin and the round, and the guns lands in such a way the pin sparks the primer, then yes. But lacking any one of those no.

My son flattened a loaded .22 casing on the driveway with a hammer. It went off and the casing embedded itself in my son's wrist. The bullet went someplace else.

Son's IQ jumped a few points that day.

It could be that the casing caused a bruise...

They do not say how serious the wound was...

It’s funny, whenever I cooked off ammo, the bullet tended to remain in place while the casing flew in the other direction. Guess physics has changed since I left Cali.

Even if this happen, there would be very little pressure on the bullet to do much if any damage.

You aimed it down to your feet? What were you thinking? The proper way was to smack the .22’s with a shovel on the sidewalk!
