Nope,, don’t even give an excuse. Just tell them they are violating the first amendment and tell them no, never, nyet, not happening no matter what they do. Armed cops, lawyers, etc.
Then start a sermon series about oppressive civil leaders suppressing religious freedom. Feature the local city counselor of your neighborhood, and the mayor prominently as examples of religious suppression and immorality. Televise the sermon on the Public access TV.
Pay an informative and respectful visit to every business that contributed to their campaign. Ask them where they stand. Win in the attack, not on the defense.
Make them feel the heat.
