New trend: Billionaires 'buying gun control'
wnd.com ^ | 10/12/2014 | Leo Hohmann

Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg and three other billionaires are bankrolling a controversial gun-control initiative that will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot in Washington State.

Even the new owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, Steve Ballmer, has gotten into the act, writing a check for $1 million dollars to help flood the airwaves with anti-gun propaganda.

The strategy in Washington relies on big money supplied by a few ultra-rich elites and, if successful, could serve as Bloomberg’s model for tightening the strings on gun owners nationwide.

Initiative 594 would not only require background checks for transactions at gun shows and over the Internet but also person-to-person sales and loaned guns. Even handing a firearm to a friend for a few moments during a hunting trip would trigger the need for a background check if Initiative 594 were to pass, critics say. The cost of the background check, to be borne by the gun owner, is yet to be determined.

Backers of the proposal are flush with cash, as nearly $8 million has been shoveled in their direction from wealthy businessmen such as Bloomberg, Gates, Ballmer, Seattle venture capitalist Nick Hanauer and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

But Bloomberg and his billionaire buddies aren’t limiting their targets to Washington. He has invested $50 million in similar ballot initiatives in 12 states, reported the Seattle Times. The money moves through his foundation, Every Town For Gun Safety.

It is as stupid as wanting a fence post banned because it was used to beat your 16 year old child with the mentality of a 12 year old to death. Just so the sociopath could get the jollies to see what it felt like to kill another human being.

They blame a object only if it is a GUN. NOT the sociopath that did the killing. My Jeremy would have been 41 this month.

Since his killer is now a free man, I CCW and don’t you dare step on my 2nd A rights. I boycott businesses that do. Which is what every gun owner should do. Instead your rushing out to buy the latest toy bill gates has made.

Confiscation is the long view with this bill (18 pages long!). ANY transfer of any type of firearm would require a background check (registration).

It would not allow loans (a “transfer”) to family members (say for self-defense against an ex-husband). It would not allow letting someone else borrow your gun (a “transfer”) at the shooting range. They do stipulate that you CAN let your spouse or “significant other” use your firearm at the range (love the imagery of two homos out at the range!).

It also would only be okay to loan it to your spouse at a “registered gun range”. There is no such animal in WA state - so add another layer of red tape. And forget going plinking with her (or any of your kids for that matter).

You CAN let someone else use (a “transfer”) one of your weapons if they are hunting and have a hunting license.

In 18 pages, there is a lot of fine print.

Jeremy was a Freshman, despite the fact he tested out as a 12 year old physically and mentally. Sunny Natured clown of a kid. Still sitting on the floor playing with Hot Wheels.

On April 11, 1989 he was late coming home from school. I heard the ER vehicles, as we were on the main drag for them, so you learn to kind of tune them out. Jeremy was ambushed with in a few hundred feet of home, behind a old ice plant, just over the RR tracks. Our neighbor’s child came banging on the door saying Jeremy had fallen off the ice plant. This was a mild Down’s child of 8 years old.

Jeremy was ambushed and struck from behind with a 2 ft section of fence post, 16 blows, the first blow to the back of the head killed him we were told. The sociopath went and bragged about it to his buddies, and brought them to see what he’d done he was that proud of killing Jeremy. One of them called the police, he was on the side lines watching until some one pointed him out. Then he ran, got caught shortly. We spent 2 yrs in court for a lousy 20 yr plea deal for 1st Degree murder down to 2nd, with a sentence range of 10-30, the RINO AG on the case chose 20. I fought my first of 6 parole hearings just 10 months later. The 2 yrs he sat in 201 Poplar, Memphis, TN adult jail counted on his 20 yrs. I made him serve his time until he reached his ‘good’ behavior max out time. They turned him lose, knowing he would be a repeat offender some time down the road. You are not allowed to keep track of them.

It’s the reason I fight for Nikki, Jeremy played with her brothers. Her mom is my friend of 26 yrs. You do not have to live in TN to voice you opinion to TN RINO governor on riding the earth of the vermin who raped and killed an 8 year old little girl.

You never forget or get over such horrendous tragedy.

Our COMMIE rag put up a link to all CCW carriers and where they lived.

That is a positively horrific story.
I am so sorry for the tragedy you experienced.

My family similarly lost a completely innocent member about 21 years ago to a serial murderer who picked his victims completely at random. This family member was upstairs alone in her apartment. The killer climbed a fire escape, smashed through a glass door, raped her, and stabbed her to death. He has to serve a minimum of 65 years before parole eligibility, so he will die in prison.

You are correct to never forget and always be vigilant.
Thank you for your diligent work towards keeping your particular dirtbag in prison and away from decent people as long as possible. Good luck with fighting the good fight.

Please help me get Nikki’s killer executed. I don’t have the skills to do a web site. And her mom does not have a computer and less skills than I do.
