Alaska will begin accepting marriage applications from same-sex couples Monday after a federal judge struck down the state's ban on gay marriage the nation's first such prohibition approved by voters.
The decision late Sunday afternoon caught many people off guard. No rallies were immediately planned, but some plaintiffs celebrated over drinks at an Anchorage bar.
Matthew Hamby, who with his husband, Christopher Shelden, was one of five couples to sue, was "just having drinks with friends, enjoying it."

Here’s how the media narrative goes.
1.) Voters approve of ban on gay marriage.
2.) Media mocks majority of voters.
3.) Liberal courts strike down majority vote.
4.) Media says gay marriage is a losing issue for Republicans.
There is no pleasing democrats.
One of their identity groups (homos) fights in the courts for the right to become legally married.
Another of their identity groups (blacks) hollers RACIST! if anyone even suggests they marry.
Top democrat politicians who stand firmly on both sides of the issue are being joined by many like minded RINOs
And may all these new gay couples decide to take their honeymoons deep in the Alaskan wilderness....
....where they are ALL promptly eaten by Kodiak grizzlies.
Naaah...can’t wish that on the poor bears. They’ll probably catch something horrible.
The USSC says there is not cross state controversy, it is a state issue.
The voters of the state vote to outlaw fetish based marriage.
State issue ends discussion.
‘End times’ interesting ... how Ebola is invading Amerika as the LGBT get their way across almost all the 57 states! The goal of same-sex champions as the punishment seems to be unveiling itself.
Here’s were you make your mistake and where we often make ours ...CONSERVATIVE judges are doing the SAME thing.
We need to recognize all the enemies, not just half of them.
Nice quote, but Lincoln never said that.
Amen. Government involvement in marriage is control through the IRS. The Gov’t should have ZERO business in this.
My headline:
State officials violate oaths, implement immoral, unlawful orders
ice homos are the same as regular homos!
5.)Republican party leadership agrees with point 4.
Marriage is not religious.
Marriage is an institution which benefits society by continuing society. Society rewards the institution NOT the individual.
This homoseuxla push is about defining marriage a mere orgasm for the individual reward.
The SECOND you dump marriage into “its religious” argument. You have conceded the logic and reason debate to the left. IOW you lose.
Your left... Your left...
Give me your left, your right, your leftI don't know but I've been told
Eskimo heinies are mighty coldSound off! One, Two!

You are correct. Marriage was not religious to the pilgrims and “puritans” who came to this country either.
Thanks for the correction, and your end comment is well stated.
Then I guess the government can regulate Communion and Baptism.
Like many of the quotes bouncing around on the net that quote seems to be a simplified version of various statements similar in content.
The quote, or versions of it, seem to originate from a parable dating from that era.
But according to the below source Lincoln did make the statement as an anecdote, but it was about a calf instead of a dog.

Lincoln Quote Sourced: Calfs Tail, Not Dogs Tail
"I have a source for the quote: Reminiscences of Abraham Lincoln by distinguished men of his time / collected and edited by Allen Thorndike Rice (1853-1889). New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1909. This story is found on page 242. Remarkably, the book is still available in an edition from the University of Michigan Press. More convenient for us, the University of Michigan has the entire text on-line, in the Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, an on-line source whose whole text is searchable."
"However, Lincoln does not tell the story about a dog he uses a calf."
there is no inheritance rights with communion or baptism. There are no legal consequences. There are no property issues.
