I was just reading about Joycelyn Elders (I don’t know why Rush insisted on calling her “Jocelyn” Elders.)
She was Surgeon General for about a year. But she certainly wasn’t “missing in action.” She managed to call for “safer guns, and safer bullets.” She called for more abortions for girls in middle school and high school. She told pro-lifers to get over their “love affair with the fetus.” She had to resign when she called for grade-school kids to be taught how to masturbate.
But she certainly was never “missing in action”!
Bob Bork told how some people came up to him—an elderly couple—and said, “We are heeding your warnings.”
He said, “Thank you. I’m happy to hear that.”
She looked at him a moment, and said, “You ARE Dr. Koop, aren’t you?”
