Federal judge orders Texas to drop voter ID law immediately

A federal judge is ordering Texas to immediately drop its voter ID law after she found it unconstitutional.

In a court filing Saturday, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzalez Ramos of Corpus Christi issued a permanent and final injunction against the law, one of the toughest of its kind in the country.

A day earlier, the state had asked for clarification about whether law would be in place for the upcoming elections in November.

Gonzalez Ramos last week ruled the law was illegal, equating it to a “poll tax” that unfairly targets minority voters.

My sister-in-law used to be a substitute teacher in the Dallas Schools. One day she walked past some hispanic teachers and heard one of them say...”WE are taking back TEXAS, one baby at a time!”

And when they finish taking it back, and the white people who pay the bulk of the taxes leave? Then what? Congratulations, bitches, you will have just reproduced Mexico!

Why register? Just find out a name and address of someone already registered and get to the polls really early and vote under their name.

No one could prove you did or you didn’t do this? Just say “I’m Joe Smith from _____ street, zip code” and go vote. Don’t even bring any ID at all.

If the real Joe Smith shows up to vote and sees he’s already voted, maybe this will get the Democrat’s attention. Especially if the real Joe Smith is a Democrat.

"... after she found it unconstitutional."

I surmise that the judge is arguing that the Texas voter ID law is a violation of the 15th Amendment which protects voters on the basis of race. But the judge's decision is wrongly a PC, pro-illegal immigrant preemptive strike, imo, since there is no evidence of such wrongdoing, corrections welcome.

Otherwise, note that the states have never amended the Constitution to make not having to show a valid photo ID before being allowed to vote an express right.

And speaking of constitutionally enumerated voting rights, the states have also never amended the Constitution to prohibit themselves from requiring candidate voters to pass a basic constitutional law test before being allowed to vote, such a test emphasizing the federal government's constitutionally limited powers to tax and spend.

Such a test would hopefully wake voters up to corrupt candidates for federal office who try to win votes by promising federal spending programs based on constitutionally nonexistant federal government powers.

Such a test could be as few as 10 true/false questions given as part of a written driver's license test.

You mean it may “fairly target those inelegible to vote” in a U.S. election?

Use a firearm illegally and look at all the laws and checks we have now.
Vote illegally and.....nothing?

See following link for discussion, map and table showing
each state’s Voter ID Law status.

http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id.aspx

Introduction: A total of 34 states have passed laws requiring voters to show some form of identification at the polls. As of October 10, 2014, 31 of these voter identification laws are in force. Pennsylvania’s law has been struck down and will not be appealed; North Carolina’s law, enacted in 2013, goes into effect in 2016; and Wisconsin has been blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court from implementing its law for 2014, pending a court case. Texas’ strict photo voter ID law has been struck down by a federal court (an appeal is likely), and an earlier non-strict, non-photo law is in place. Scroll over the map below for state-by state details.

The remaining 19 states use other methods to verify the identity of voters. Most frequently, other identifying information provided at the polling place, such as a signature, is checked against information on file. See NCSL’s Voter Verification Without ID Documents.

Please note that some of the 31 states with voter identification laws in place have enacted stricter requirements with implementation dates in the future. The current, in-effect laws are used here, with footnotes that identify stricter laws to be implemented in 2015 or 2016.

The only question is whether the 5th Circuit will reverse in time for the election.

Dumb messycans wouldn't know what to do with it if they had it. Wait! They did have it! And we took it from them!

We'll just take it back again.

No kidding. The federal judiciary has so thoroughly disgraced themselves, I can’t even begin to fathom why the states honor these ridiculous decisions.

“” drop its voter ID law after she found it unconstitutional.””

How come they are never asked to give the specific clause in the Constitution that makes ID for voting illegal????? Why does no one ever ask??????? They get away without giving any specifics over and over...

Don’t need that... Just ignore the judge. What’s the judge going to do about it?

My God, is this madness ever going to end? Voter ID laws and laws against homosexual marriage being struck down. The nation is being conquered by it's enemies and the government allows it.

Will anyone have the bravery to stop this from happening?

Until a state like Texas is willing to stand up to political activist judges then things are only going to get much worse.
