The White House plotted strategies to defend President Bill Clinton against the political fallout of his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky and other scandals, according to documents released Friday by the National Archives that delve into painful chapters in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s life as she ponders another bid for the presidency.

The papers include lists of talking points, questions prepared for media interviews and efforts to defend the president against impeachment, part of 10,000 pages of records being released from the Clinton administration. The documents did not appear to reveal any new information that might affect a potential Hillary Clinton campaign.

Many records involving Lewinsky are redacted, but one document sheds light on her job: Lewinsky sent an official request to hang a picture of Clinton, signing a telecommunications bill, in a White House legislative affairs office. Behind the scenes, Clinton officials were adamant that they were not trying to discredit Lewinsky. …

I love it! What a legacy! Yassar Arafat wouldn’t cover for him by agreeing to Israels demands so we end up with a blo-job!

Monica and Huma were both WH interns that year.

I figure the Clintons were doing the “daily double” but BJ was the only one who got caught.

They’ll just tell us to “Move On” and knock off the “politics of personal destruction”. It worked before.

I never understood this Hillary the victim business. Hillary has never acknowledged being utterly wrong about the vast right wing conspiracy. She said that when the Lewinsky scandal first broke. Since the story of Bill and Monica turned out to be true, clearly it was NOT a vast right conspiracy of lies to discredit the Clinton’s. It was all true. Yet the media nor Republicans ever call the Clinton’s out on absurd things they say.

Given Bill’s history, there is no way the smartest woman in the world didn’t suspect that Bill had done something with Monica. Yet she play acts this innocent wronged wife routine.........

Textbook Clinton 101.

I learned during the Clinton White House years, that career ending information did not necessarily mean the person in focus "was done".

If you've got a devious team.
If you wholly own the main stream media
If you have a populace that is so in love with the idea of you, they can't see facts
If you dump it two years prior to your election run, when you do run you can play it off as being old stuff, already vetted, and there was nothing there.

Of course the media will ignore it again.

Evil is too common a term for what the Clinton's are.

Meanwhile, Monica is still living the single, lonely life not married and with no children and has not had a full-time job since leaving the Pentagon in 1997.

Very sad.

As a minor aside I think “evil” is a theological term and such beings are largely in God’s hands not ours. “Bad people” is more manageable. We can deal with such individuals as they are ultimately deficient. The Clinton’s are “Bad People” deficient in sexual morals, are greedy beyond bounds, liars of the first rank-right up there with “The Divine One.” There are not many human vices that cannot be attributed to those two. They are “Bad People.”

Re: Monica. Collateral damage! What difference does it make? ;)

I have always felt sorry for her, too. I mean, I was no Rocket Scientist at that age, either. Few of us were.

I appreciate the response. I will say that if the word evil doesn’t apply to Bill and Hillary Clinton, then bad has simply ceased to exist.

I have no problem using theological terms.

Word games?

In the Old Testament, the word translated “evil” is “ra”, which comes from “ra’a”, meaning to spoil (go rotten) or shatter in pieces. In the New Testament, “poneros” is cognate with that Hebrew word, whereas “kakos” refers to intrinsic evil and “sapros” refers to one falling from good into evil.

I acknowledge that the term “Evil” is in common use. I just think that use of the term “Bad” makes the person to whom it applies more manageable. However, I don’t insist.

As I remember Kakos is the Greek term for “Bad.” My point by describing a person as “Bad” rather than “Evil” makes them more manageable especially as a “Bad” person is usually deficient in some quality or qualities. The term “Evil” places its recipient in a class manageable by God. We live in a human world. For example Satan is “Evil” can you imagine a human trying to manage him? However, I don’t insist.

I don’t understand where that pedantry comes from, with all due respect.

The modern English word “evil” comes from Anglo-Saxon “yfel”, which itself means “bad” in our modern sense; as do other such derived words as German “übel”.

Now the word “bad” is presumed to be derived from Anglo-Saxon “baeddel”, which actually means “hermaphrodite”. Perhaps this word is a misnomer?

I said I don't insist. Etymologies are nice, I love them, but not enough to study them formally. They don't tell us current usage or meaning. Bad is a more manageable concept when compared with the concept of evil and the use of the term "Bad" helps one to more refined discriminations as it is pointing to the fact that the individual has deficiencies. For example Hillary is a liar a person who lacks the ability to tell the truth. Hillary is greedy for free money thus lacks temperance.(She has many other vices) Satan is evil and thus an entirely different order of being not really manageable by Human beings. Once again I do not insist upon my interpretation/p>
