Back in 1998 I showed up here when the Foxnews bulletin board was taken down due to discourse issues (I like to think I had something to do with that).

When I showed up here I started “posting”. Got my ass handed to me intellectually.

This is not a bulletin board, this is not a raving lunatic rant board. The people here are most likely 12 to 13 times smarter and more patriotic.

Rule #1 for a Newbie - STFU and listen.

Respond with your opinion/thoughts and you will grow up fast. The beauty of FreeRepublic is that independent thought is held in high esteem, going honestly against consensus is admirable. I can’t guarantee love though. Take the hits.

A Vanity post (where you believe what you have to say is so incredible and underreported that you just cant hold back) are ok, some are great, but you better be packing intellectual heat if you want dip your toe in that water.

Welcome to FR. You must be here for a reason. If your here for love of freedom you’re in the right place. If you here to agitate, like a cheep 70’s maytag washing machine, Ozone with be the last thing you smell.

Last week a low-brow FReeper pinged Din Maker to a thread and orchestrated a pack attack against him purporting him to be a troll. I believe it was because Din Maker has a screen name that is similar to a now-banned poster that the low-brow is intimidated by.

I don’t know if this is the impetus for Din Maker’s vanity but it was stupid and unwarranted (and typical for that particular low-brow).
