“At some point, a reasonable person has to say no to evil regardless of the sides. When we have republican candidates and office-holders espousing progressive ideas and voting for liberal initiatives time and time again, then there is no value in continuing the pretense.”
I fully expect the GOP to take the senate and continue on with business as usual.
It’s important though that the GOP win both the house and the senate so they can be blamed in 2016 for the poor state of the union.
The dems already have as much as they can get for the moment. In order to get the rest the GOP needs to be in charge for a couple of years.
Of course the Gop and the Dems want the same things.
Obamacare isn’t going anywhere, gay marriage is going to be the law of the land, and immigration reform is the next biggie.
It’s all about the status quo.
Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell will switch offices. I can’t think of anything else that will change.
I will be out voting for candidates who support the principles upon which the GOP was founded. If that means I can’t vote for a particular GOP candidate, then the party has failed in its job.
I have to follow orders when I am in uniform, many of which I do not agree with, but when I am home I will exercise the freedoms that many lives have purchased for me. My responsibility to my children is to continue to do what is right regardless of popular opinion.
My only regret so far is voting for some of your candidates when I knew better. Maybe if we had really all stayed home in protest the past 20+ years, the GOP would have remained true. Now she has become a power-sharing-addicted whore. Truly sad to see.

Americans in truth don’t even know who controls Congress. They wait patiently for the MSM or their Master’s Voice to tell them how to vote.
“Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia.”
>>Pretty much what happens when the (D) is in control.<<
Why is it so irritating that we know what the future is going to bring?
If they win, hopefully we will start kicking their a$$es and make them do some good.
Children and the elderly will starve.
When he won in 2008 I started calling him Present(president without ID) Obama.
There will always be an excuse. Now the excuse from the GOP-E is “we only control one-half of one-third” even though what they do control is enough to defund Obamacare and kill it dead.
The next excuse will be “we don’t have enough Senate votes to override a veto”, followed by “we don’t have the White House”.
If they can hoodwink enough conservatives into voting for them, what we’ll get is another George Bush, who did absolutely nothing to advance conservatism, which is the reason we post here (or, at least some of us do).
So what will happen if Republicans win? Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.
The next presidential election is critical. We need to avoid having the conservative vote split in the primaries. But that is the election AFTER this one.
The promise of winning the senate now offers very little. Lets go over the pros and cons:
1. Maybe they might block the worst of Obama’s appointments... maybe.
2. They might pass bills to force unpopular vetos... (of course Obama is a lame duck, doesn’t care, is already unpopular and the Dems are already running away from Obama on the campaign trails)
3. McConnell “I’ll destroy the tea party” is ordained leader of the senate.
Not much there to inspire me. Lets look at the cons:
1. Every Rino is one more vote for a weak/moderate Republican leader in the senate. Ouch.
2. Every Rino is a potential “gang of 8/10/12” member which means even if we win the majority, we don’t have control.
3. Red state Rinos are harder to get rid of than a democrat.
4. Rinos will be desperate to get something passed to show they are doing something... anything. So they are likely to bend over backwards to get Obama to “compromise” on some issue that they give in on.
5. Having control of both houses gives the dem’s an out during the presidential election to run against the do-nothing legislature. If Dem’s keep the senate, then they own the state of the nation.
6. Having RINO jump ship on crucial votes lets the dem’s call that action bi-partisan and avoid accountability for the harms that they do.
7. Rinos are not going to vote against Obama appointments anyways, and are likely to vote to close filibusters. Looking at you Senator Cornball!
8. Rinos love to badmouth other Republicans and do more damage since they are perceived to be on the same side. Go go Gov Krispy Kreme.
I can keep going.
Most of the Senate seats that are up for election this year are Democrat seats (as a result of the Democrat sweep in 2008). Most of the Senate seats that are up for election in 2016 are Republican seats (as a result of the Republican sweep in 2010).
If the Republicans cannot take the Senate this year then there is no chance of them taking the Senate next year.
Even if there is a strong Republican Presidential candidate in 2016, mathematically it will be an uphill fight for the Republicans to break even in the Senate in 2016. To gain any seats in 2016, the Republicans will have to have a better year than 2010, when the Tea Party was motivated and out in full force. That means they have to take out Democrats that were elected in 2010 and hold onto all of the Republicans that were elected in 2010.
The only way that the Republicans have control of the Senate in 2016 is if they win control of it this year and then hold onto it.
