Prompted by recent Ebola scares, about 200 cabin cleaners at New York’s La Guardia Airport have walked off the job over what they say are safety concerns.
The protesting workers are employed by Air Serv, which contracts with Delta to clean airplane cabins and bathrooms, and organizers predict the strike will last 24 hours.

I’ve flown in/out of LaGuardia many times and I do not believe this story.
There is simply no way they clean those planes.

Just once in this country I’d like to see the populace so angered by something the government did, that they would simply stay home until it was fixed.
Illegal immigration? High taxation? The national disgrace Obamacare?
Nobody seems to give a damn.
If they had waited until tomorrow, they could have set up a four day weekend. LOL!

I don’t normally side with unions.. however, no way in heck I’d clean one of those planes either.
As much as I despise Unions I can’t say I blame these people for striking. I wouldn’t want to clean up after Ebola crap either, who would want to be in charge of that!! I say since liberals love Ebola so much, send the toxic waste to MSNBC let them clean it up

Regarding the cabin cleaners being Somali, how is it that so many categories of jobs are done by foreign born workers anymore?
These airport workers for example. Anecdotal evidence is that many airport retail workers in many major airports are from overseas. Ditto people working in 711 and gas stations. Ditto people working as hotel maids and office maintenance cleaning crews. Ditto for many food processing facilities.
How is it that the foreign born have all these jobs when we have millions of able bodied Americsns not even in the labor force???

Welfare has to do with a lot of it. Why work cleaning planes when you can sit at home with all your “free” stuff?
Whatever happened to the school or work requirements from passing welfare reform in 1996? When Clinton told us we were ending welfare as we know it?
I wonder if Ebola can be spread through dandruff?

I believe they have been watered down somehow, but I’m not sure. In some states, I think the state government either just ignores them or changed their own laws to be more generous with taxpayer money.
Remember, government entitlement spending has gotten so huge, that many businesses and local governments depend on welfare and food stamp spending. Food stamp programs are a boon to farmers and grocery store owners. HUD programs enable landlords to rent properties without having to do much in the way of maintenance or improvement. Many middle class people, particularly minorities, work in government.
Almost seems it is too late to save us. This will only stop when the money runs out and the debt hits the fan.
