Why do so many liberals despise Christianity?

Liberals increasingly want to enforce a comprehensive, uniformly secular vision of the human good. And they see alternative visions of the good as increasingly intolerable. Liberalism seems to have an irrational animus against Christianity.

Liberals are against ANY religion that says they will be judged for their actions against a standard that is not their own. Liberalism is the quest to escape judgement. That is why they always have two standards for everything. One they apply to themselves and another they apply to those who oppose them.

You can answer your own question by asking yourself why they hate Christ. The Christian Church is the body of Christ...to hate the church is to hate Christ.

Liberals despise Christianity for the same reason they despise the military.

I spent a number of years in the USMC, and the best definition of 'courage' that I ever heard was - "Courage is not the elimination of fear, it's the realization that there is something more important."

Courage comes from the realization that some things are more important than yourself. Liberals do not accept this, EVERY liberal belief has their own self interest at the root. They're 'pacifists' not because peace is the solution, they are pacifists because there is nothing more important that their own selves. They hate the military because it reminds them of this, so instead of feeling guilt, which would be the honest reaction, they feel hate towards those that would have them feel guilty.

Christianity is no different. The root of Christianity is selflessness. Sin is equatable to selfishness. Think about it, every sin is selfish, and every selfish act is sinful. But here again, liberals do not want to feel guilty for their selfishness. Their motto is, if it feels good, do it, and feel no regret.

Liberalism is about living life with your own self interest above all else, to them anything that contradicts this world view is wrong, because is shines a spotlight on how selfish there beliefs are.

I find liberals do not trust that individuals making positive decisions for themselves collectively makes society a better place.

They tend to believe that well educated people, put into positions of authority, making decisions for everybody will do the most good.

The God a person worships may have no mention in any religion. There is worship of money, power, family, governance, and group affiliation at the top of the chain-of-command instead of the true Providence.

Going to a building that happens to be a church or other structure primarily used for standard religions may have nothing to do with worshiping God, your heart to the Heart of God.

Liberalism is worship of the State while Christianity is worship of God and to be more specific a God who is personal, involved in every aspect of ones life. That’s anathema to liberals right there! Liberals also believe that man is evolving thought them, that the human condition can be improved through the State. Christianity believes that man devolved (Fall of Adam) and that the human condition can be improved through God (Christ) alone. Total opposites

Secular humanists/ progressives/ liberals/ and certain non-Christian religions believe they are their own gods or at least gods-in-training. Christians believe that God is God and they are not nor will they ever be gods.

They can't even bring themselves to "judge" Islam despite how that group treats members of liberalism's other "protected" groups.

They despise TRUTH, right/wrong. They want to be able to behave however they want with no consequence or guilt. ANY enemy of Christianity is their ally, which explains why they are silent about groups they should be frightful of.
