Yup, Piers Morgan is Trying for FOX News

I called it on Friday.

And it’s also an obvious audition for FOX News.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Morgan started slowly popping up there with thought of eventually giving him a show. It sounds implausible, but it’s not like FOX News doesn’t have even worse people sitting behind a desk.

And here we are.

Last night former CNN host Piers Morgan did something he never thought he’d do by sitting down for an interview at Fox News headquarters in New York City with Sean Hannity. Morgan is still set in his anti-Second Amendment views, but during the interview he offered a surprising critique of President Obama and gave extra criticism for recent comments he made on 60 Minutes blaming the intelligence community for failing to see the rise of ISIS in the Middle East

Morgan also slammed Obama for saying the Islamic State isn’t Islamic and for his callous decision to hit the golf course immediately after making a statement about the beheading of American journalist James Foley.

“ISIS clearly is an Islamic fundamentalist organization, it’s a terror group, and when they start beheading American and British citizens in these gruesome, snuff movies that they are making, and releasing them to the world, taunting, taunting these countries,” he said. “It’s not good enough to simply say, yea I’m really upset about this beheading, and then 7 minutes later as Obama did go to a golf course and be seen goofing around on the first tee. That really hit home to me.”

I predict this won’t be Morgan’s last appearance. That doesn’t mean he’ll get a gig, though I suspect his celeb connections would be tempting to the higher ups, but it does mean that he really isn’t going anywhere.

Cockroaches survive apocalypses really well.

Morgan’s tactic for getting a handle on a demographic is to seize on an issue. He’s switching from gun control, which he used to pander to liberals, over to a round of belated Obama bashing, over ISIS and Ebola, to pander to the right.

I assumed that he would head back to the UK. Instead he used his UK contacts to pick up a UK gig focused on the States. Despite all the sneering and bashing, it seems that Piers Morgan likes it here.

more and more, these shows feature a bunch of libs and conservatives just shouting at each other. If I wanted to watch liberals, I would tune in to MSNBC.

Exactly. Their schtick is presenting "both sides" and that mostly means idiots shouting. I don't really want "both sides", I want information. The only thing they did right was allow conservatives a voice, but usually only offset by some crazy person for balance.

At some point being forced to listen to crazy people is too high a price to pay.

If you have Fox Business, in the morining I watch Varney and Company. Good program, moves quickly, and is actually fun to watch. You will get regular news along with the business news. So, you might want to try it.

So why is Al Franken favored to win in Minnesota?

WTF how the hell do you go from a statesman like Hubert Humphrey to Jesse Ventura and Al Franken.

I did not agree with HHH's politics, but at least he was a statesman.

Did he dress up like a revolutionary war soldier?

...a redcoat, that is.

I think his great-great-great grandpa is the guy that said, “Burn the church”

Whenever fagola Shep Smith comes on, I hit the remote to Fox Busines with Neil Caputo or Lou Dobbs. I’m sure the cable switch can be measured in seconds. The switch from Piers Morgan will be milliseconds. Period.

Hey FOX, I’ll turn the channel it he gets on.

That's what I do when I see Keith Oberman on Fox Sports.
