O’Reilly Grills Leon Panetta: Hasn’t Obama’s Foreign Policy Been a Failure?
mediaite ^ | 10/7/14 | Josh Feldman

Bill O’Reilly put former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on the hot seat tonight, and repeatedly grilled him on whether President Obama‘s foreign policy has been effective or a failure. Panetta insisted to O’Reilly that he doesn’t doubt Obama’s commitment to fighting America’s enemies, there’s just a question of whether he’s made the right decisions in carrying out that fight.

For example, Panetta says Obama did support providing a troop presence of thousands in Iraq, as he and others recommended, but the issue was “how hard did he fight to make it happen.”

O’Reilly asked Panetta why it feels like the Obama administration is taken by surprise in almost everything. Panetta said that since he’s left the White House, Obama has learned the importance of fighting ISIS, to which O’Reilly responded, “Oh, bull.”

When O’Reilly pressed Panetta for a straight answer on whether Obama’s foreign policy is an effective one, Panetta hesitated. He preferred to blame “mixed messages” from the White House as opposed to strong leadership from the previous few years.

I watched the whole interview.... I dunno. I’m certainly not going to buy the guy’s book. In a perfect world they’d put Obammy, Hitlery, and Panetta in the same jail cell..... charge them for being traitors..... and let Sheila Jackson Lee be their court appointed attorney.

We must not forget, Panetta is a DEMOCRAT.

Panetta is opening act for the “throw Obama under the bus on behalf of Hillary” movement.

I'm still not convinced Hillary will run this next election. While I can't stand the Clintons, they are politically savvy. The next President will have a total cluster #^{% to clean up. Why would a political animal such as Hillary throw herself to the wolves knowing there is only so much she can do. Why not allow some other person to take the reins, with a very high likelihood of failing anyway.

Unless Congress can get packed with the likes of Cruz, Gowdy and a handful of others (it really is just a handful); nothing will really change.

I agree. IF... the senate and congress both end up in the hands of the republicans.... considering the existing cluster.... she won’t run. She cares to much about what history will say about her.

I'm not sure if 'committed, but stupid' is a better defense than 'not committed'.

Panetta is doing Clinton’s work. Did he say one negative thing about the State Dept and her incompetence?

Pray America wakes

Then just what did you do, Defense Secretary Panetta?

Like "Tonto", surviving contractor at the compound said this morning on Fox & Friends, (paraphrase) "if you (Panetta) are the Defense Secretary, and have troops at the compound, why did you allow the State Dept. to take over the (never happened) mission?"

Yep, and when Odungas poll numbers crater a little more the “Smartest Women in the World” and her rapist enabler Husband will pile on as well.

I usually don't give BOR props, but I think he hit the bell on this interview. As Krautheimer said after the interview, it was equally damning to see Panetta’s body language, it was a damning interview for the POS (My words)

After watching this interview, I must say it is devastating for Obama. I can’t recall such an important cabinet member slamming his boss so completely as Panetta is doing.

This is more than just selling a book and it’s more than covering for Hillary, which I really don’t see much of.

This is ALL about Panetta vocalizing what we all know, Obama is perhaps the worst Presidenet ever, certainly the worst i the modern ara, and that is VERY dangerous.

We’ve already seen the Secret Service hanging Obama out there like a pie plate at a 10 cent shooting gallery - no takers yet though

Under the Obama regime, the State Department does the “wars” - the president has a Nobel Peace Prize - the flow of communication is all FUBAR - the CIC is AWOL

Day late and a dollar short. I reckon Obama couldn’t care less what Panetta says. The leftist agenda now is to install Hillary. Obama is a lame duck and I doubt he watches O’Reilly anyway.

why he didn't resign...

I hear that a lot about our senior officers.

We could have asked it about Patton after the way he was treated following his episode of slapping a soldier and calling him a coward.

He could have resigned.

But that would not have been what was best for either the common soldier or the nation.

Good point about only going so far. I think O’Reilly is going to end up calling for Obama to resign or for impeachment. “For the security and survival of the United States”.

For a while now, O’Reilly has been turning the screws on Obama. I see O’Reilly calling for him to resign.
