Yes they did and then HW Bush was foisted on Reagan as a running mate. As I recall it was part of some deal at the convention. People would pull their support of Reagan if HW wasn't on the ticket with him. Not Reagan's choice for a running mate.
Iran under the Shahs was climbing out of muzzie-inspired barbarism. One of Jimmy Carter’s greatest crimes against humanity (perhaps his greatest) was allowing Iran to fall under the mad ayatollah.
Now, maybe if they would not get in our way of choosing Cruz for president they might get their little Jeb in there at some point.
You never know but I sure don’t see a Cruz/Bush ticket. But then, that’s sort of been said before and Reagan had to take him! :)

Texas voters will NOT be welcoming a Jeb Bush run at POTUS, as he loves amnesty, common core education, gay marriage and other liberal focus points.
After all, until Obama, GWB was the biggest spender of all US Presidents.

Obama pulled back the troops from both countries and imposed severe budget cuts on the DoD, but still has managed to outspend all prior Presidents put together because of his welfare programs and foreign aid gifts to US enemies or obscure African countries.
No unfortunately it wasn't Bul#%^st. It was almost a Cult following for over eight years. It began in here in about early 2000. Speaking anything but praises and Amen 'W" with Bush policies brought you wrath of many posters and often endangered ones status as a poster. Then after 9/11/2001 it became impossible to even dare question his majesties policies no matter how bad and dangerous to our very freedoms they got. All you heard afterward was the "You're for/with Bush or the terrorist" garbage and it got real old fast. Repeat chant in Caps if loosing a debate about his questionable acts. Also the likes of Rove and his antics was "Praised" in here.
Bush and his long time hand picked for party support friends now elected GOP_E chair warmers like Lamar Alexander set back Conservatism in the GOP for decades and paved the way for Obama's bigger and more controlling federal government abuses we live under today.
Bush appointed a Liberal USSC Chief Justice. I believe he knew he was just that. A liberal just as Bush was as Liberal on social issues including snubbing Christian groups to embrace Log Cabin GOP. "W" as LBJ on many issues was Liberal. Bush even during the election said himself and Gore weren't far apart on most issues and still it was praise him or else. The daily pictures threads were also over the top. Some still can't or won't admit it.
Unfortunately during all this the sites reputation as a "CONSERVATIVE" forum suffered greatly with many long time members banned or gave up and left. I believe what happen was a lot of 2000 sign on posters were or maybe still are local GOP officers whom as such do not support Conservatism as much as they are here to simply rally support for the GOP-E anointed right or wrong.
I self exiled myself when bracken & WD were put in the corner .... Was a crazy time, lots of quick and wrong decisions made here IMO. As does the world...self correction and smoother emotions kicked in and FR recovered some of its good guys back.
Surfed the site a few times in 05 but there are a lot of folks here that don’t even READ the threads or posts. Mods are better at picking up the trash these days.

I have to admit I was taken aback by your characterization of the Bush women, particularly Laura, who I have not found to be lazy, slovenly, or a slut.
I will freely admit to having looked up the word “slattern” to ensure I understood what you were saying.
Carter cost the world five friendly nations by abandoning strong allies. Four to communism and one to Shiite extremism. Hundreds of thousands of people suffered and died because of his being a lily-livered weakling.
As soon as I saw the news footage of the people running wild in the streets, whacking the statue of Saddam with their shoes, etc, that we had lost. I was outraged. There was no discipline whatsoever. I am nobody, and I could have done a better job.
Carter also gutted the intelligence services, and subjected the military to malign neglect.
We can’t add up 0bama’s damage, yet, because the wretched bastard isn’t done yet ... but I think he has already out cartered Carter.
