High court denies gay marriage appeals [legal immediately in IN, OK, UT, VA and WI]

he Supreme Court has turned away appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriages, paving the way for an immediate expansion of gay and lesbian unions.

The justices on Monday did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The court's order immediately ends delays on marriage in those states. Couples in six other states should be able to get married in short order.

That would make same-sex marriage legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia.

But the justices have left unresolved for now the question of same-sex marriage nationwide.

John Roberts is the latest GOP-E gift that keeps on giving.

Whatever you do - do NOT object or be suspicious of the next SCOTUS nomination by a future GOP President. They know what's best for us. You don't want a divisive SCOTUS nominee, do you? DO YOU!?!?!?!?!?!?

“This is a flawed world and America has chosen to reject God.”

America hasn’t “chosen” anything at all. Every time the people of America have had a choice theyve chosen the traditional definition of marriage. Frankly it’s just not up to us anymore. There are enough leftists on the federal bench now, that they can collectively do just about anything they want to do without reproach and without any recourse for their political opposition. Plural marriage is right around the corner. Total degeneration of the institution shortly there after. Marriage is finished in this country from a functional standpoint. Most of the younger generation won’t even bother. They don’t see any difference between being married and just shacked up. They think marriage is about romantic love, and not the utility of the institution to society. Conservatives have to embrace a certain amount libertarianism now to protect ourselves, and stop worrying so much about the government’s for in promoting a positive culture. Democracy is dead. They really don’t care what we think or why. The only thing we can do about that is push back against the use of government coercion on every level.

I DESPISE THESE 9 BASTARDS!

Scalia, Thomas and Alito are pretty solid conservatives for the most part. Roberts and Kennedy are the wafflers. The other 4 halloween costumes are hack leftists.

...this has been the result of 50+ years of viewing marriage as being about adult happiness rather than building the next generation....

Exactly.

Dead we are. Nothing good here for the future.

For those who say, states rights, Obamacare, was that left

up to the states. Those justices did wrong today/picking social agenda they want to see. They are not protecting states’ rights.

And I can see them file suit against a very small church and it won’t be able to afford the legal fees.

They could, but I don't think any church that was sued for refusing to perform a same-sex marriage would have to worry about legal fees. ADF, ACLJ, and any number of other Christian legal associations (not to mention individual Christian lawyers) would jump at the chance to defend a small church (pro bono) in that type of case.

I guess that until states start to declare independence then they won’t be free from the evil that has infected the federal government.

If the courts ruled that up was down, and down was up, idiots would still die when they jumped off eighty foot cliffs. And the rocks at the bottom of the cliff would still not care.

These judges are idiots, and so is anyone who in any way goes along with them in their idiocy.

They’re only destroying themselves. But they’re not in any way changing the real nature and character of marriage.

Already covered in Amendment X. Unfortunately, the Court isn’t using the Constitution as a basis of law.

I’ve been preaching against the fundamental danger of the destructive fallacy of judicial supremacy for years.

I wonder if more will now start to listen, finally.

Great.

What makes us think God will not render judgment on us as a society and culture for continually spitting in his face and perverting his moral law? We call evil "good" and good "evil" and expect His understanding and mercy? Fat chance.
