Democrat Jimmy Carter: I Could Have Defeated Reagan if I was More ‘Manly’
TPNN ^ | 10/1/4 | Matthew Burke

Former Democrat president Jimmy Carter was crushed by conservative Ronald Reagan in 1980, after serving one disastrous term, losing the electoral vote 489-49.

It was an embarrassing time to be a Democrat, as it is today after an even more calamitous time under current Democrat President Barack Obama.

Carter was thoroughly annihilated by Reagan, who the political establishment said was too conservative to be elected president, only winning six states and the District of Columbia (two of the states were his own state of Georgia, and his VP choice Walter Mondale’s home state of Minnesota).

Carter told CNBC Meets in an interview released on Wednesday, that he could have defeated Ronald Reagan if he had been more “manly” during the Iranian hostage crisis.

Carter told CNBC’s Tania Bryer:

Yes. Um, well I could’ve been re-elected if I’d taken military action against Iran, shown that I was strong and resolute and, um, manly and so forth. But, er, I think if I, I could have wiped Iran off the map with the weapons that we had, but in the process a lot of innocent people would have been killed, probably including the hostages and so I stood up against all that, er, all that advice, and then eventually my prayers were answered and every hostage came home safe and free. And so I think I made the right decision in retrospect, but it was not easy at the time (laughs).” The Iranian Hostage Crisis, in which more than 60 Americans were taken hostage when Islamic terrorists overtook the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, lasted 444 days.

The American hostages were released literally minutes after Ronald Reagan took his oath of office

Shouldn’t this be interpreted as Jimmy Carter criticizing the American people? As in “I did the right thing, but the voters weren’t sophisticated enough to realize it.”

What a delusional oaf.

It couldn’t have been his failed policies and their impact on the nation.

What does the misery index have to do with his manliness?

Nothing is ever learned from the failures of Leftist ideology implemented.

The Dems weren’t really good at the dead voting and “gifting” in certain districts...and busing....and early voting cheats....etc etc

Here is an interesting photo of Ronald Reagan.

In this photo Reagan is an old man, and he is eating with young warriors in their prime, even in uniform, yet he looks every bit the man.

Still waiting for Jimmy Carter to fly to Cuba for his health care needs instead of burdening Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
