Kansas is not “Deep Red”. We do vote for Republicans in national races, but that’s because the state still has a large number of liberals who won’t vote for Democrats (see Kansas Civil War history). That why Orman is pretending to be an Independent. He’s not, he’s a liberal Democrat, but this deception is designed to get liberal Republicans to vote for him. They will.

Senator Roberts was severely damaged in the primary by Senator Roberts, Wolf barely laid a hand on him. Roberts has continued being his own worst enemy in the General Election campaign.

Bingo. Well stated, and if Roberts wants to represent the great state of Kansas, he ought to live here.

I will vote for Senator Roberts. Orman is a phony, a liberal, and a Democrat.

It’ll take the recalcitrant of KS a generation to figure out that Orman is liberal, but I don’t think they will mind at all.

Feb 2015 Republicans: “We can’t do anything about Obamacare this time but just $50 might help us take the Senate in 2016. Won’t you help us defeat Obamacare?”

It’s pretty absurd to continue arguing that Wolf was a conservative and Roberts was not. Wolf would probably be in even worse shape than Roberts. But that for that ridiculous primary - where some people calling themselves “tea party” wanted to challenge a conservative Senator “just because” resulting in an amazingly brutal primary - Roberts would be cruising to an easy re-election - the race wouldn’t even be on the radar screen as even being remotely competitive - probably 60 - 70%.

The “true conservatives” every election cycle always advocate for as many ultra liberals to be elected as possible as the best solution for the country. See above someone longing for Pelosi to retake the Speaker’s gavel. Multiple posts with people happy Obama was elected and then re-elected, i.e. “as bad as things are with Obama, I can’t imagine how bad they would have gotten if Romney was elected”, etc. Meanwhile the Courts are being stacked with ultra-liberals at an accelerated rate who will be there for a generation shaping policy - at an even faster pace if the Democrats maintain control of the Senate.

The GOPe does a wonderful job of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

40% of the electorate identifies themselves as conservative, twice the number who identify as liberals. Yet they cannot seem to win as often as one would expect. I’m not keeping score, but it seems to me to be about even among the factions. I do know that it’s the Democrats who benefit.

He apparently doesn’t like to campaign and can’t be made to do it.

Spent too much time in "his" senate office? Why should he have to campaign? He's entitled to everyone's vote, or the Democrat will win. (/sarcasm)

Screw him. If he won't fight for his seat, he won't fight for us.

Hopefully there are enough levelheaded conservatives like you with an understanding of how much damage Reid is inflicting on this country. Now my opinion is that we have basically lost the war because there are more takers than makers but it is still good to win the battles when we can. This is a battle that should not be lost.

What is the purpose of the following selection criteria in the polling?

Respondents in the household were selected
by asking for the youngest male

I don't care about Roberts personally, but he is more conservative than most of his Senate collegues. All of the things that I do care about will be put at risk with an Orman victory. I will vote for Roberts

>>>Having been betrayed by Republicans for the past twenty years, I would like nothing better than to see the House and Senate both go to the Democrats this election cycle. I’ll probably get only half my wish, but that will be satisfaction enough for the time being<<<

Yeah that will teach Obama and the Rats what’s what. LOL

If your dream comes true, after the Election Obama will probably sign up on FR so he can thank everyone personally for a job well done.

Heck, I’m surprised he isn’t already a Monthly Donor with all the support the Democrat Party gets on here.

Carry on, our March to a Transformed America is nearly over.
Let’s just get Eric Holder on the SCOTUS and it’s done.

There's a CBS/New York Times poll out that's calling it a tie with 17% undecided. Link

It also puts Brownback up by four.

There are 4 weeks left so future polls will be interesting. Is the CBS poll an outlier? Or is it a beginning of a trend in Roberts/Brownback direction?

You are obviously not from here

We don’t like “representation” that rents a Lazy Boy. The dude is a professional pol and we don’t like that either. Maybe if those of you from the other states had some guts you’d kick out some of the political elite feeding at your trough, but no, you want to criticize Kansas for purging the dead wood.

What the hell do you know? When is the last time you came to Kansas? We are still people of integrity, unlike the majority of the population.
