IOW, mostly TV, movies and music. Those media have been almost entirely abandoned by conservatives for at least four decades.
Do I think it's a good thing that these are the primary transmission belts for our culture? I certainly don't. But that doesn't change because I don't like it.
In a democratic society, the government exists to give the people what they want. So the only really important question in politics and society is, "What do the people want?"
That is not affected by laws or argument.
As an example, Will and Grace and hundreds of TV shows and movies over the last few decades with lovable and cuddly gay characters, contrasted with ugly, bigoted and unpleasant ant-gay characters, had infinitely more to do with the loss of the gay marriage fight than any article, evidence or argumentation.
Much less laws or referenda. A Culture War must be fought in the Culture, not in legislatures or courts.
Almost true. But that is not the case here because the liberals have used the law to further moral decline. In fact, the OP is a matter of law. Most of the country doesn't want gay marriage - the laws on the books in a few states are being forced down the throats of the rest by way of reciprocity.
I agree that TV,movies, music etc. are part of the culture war. But I still believe that politics and society itself are also battle fronts in this war. Our society is awash in an anti-life and pro-pervert mentality in large measure due to both Hollywood’s and political propaganda’s vile influence. As I said before, the “live and let live” mentality is directed toward a depraved crowd that won’t let *us* live.
