On Thursday morning, I received my first well-produced Facebook message mocking those deluded souls, presumably on the right, who are worried about the spread of Ebola. The only thing that surprised me about the message was that I had not seen one sooner.
The same people who gave us homophobia and Islamophobia (not to mention racism, sexism, classism, xenophobia, nativism, and climate denial) are about to give us Ebolaphobia. As former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel notoriously said (while plagiarizing Winston Churchill), "You never let a serious crisis go to waste.”
The Obama White House will exploit this crisis, if it becomes one, in ways that alarmists do not anticipate. Obama will not declare martial law or shut down the polls in November – I hope – but he and his cronies will begin immediately to stigmatize the opposition as xenophobes and racists. They have done this before on other issues, and there is no time better to do it again than a month before national elections.
Obama and his allies will do this because they can get away with it. The media have enabled Obama’s mean-spirited mendacity from his breakout appearance at the 2004 Democratic Convention to today, and they show no sign of mending their ways. In the process, they have helped Obama create what Marc Thiessen charitably described in the Washington Post as “a fundamentally dishonest presidency.”
In my newest book, "You Lie!", I set out to chronicle President Obama’s many divergences from the truth. What I ended up doing was writing a history of the presidency. He and his enablers have proven themselves capable of lying on every subject of significance, and on none more boldly than those involving race and illegal immigration, like the issue of Ebola.

Thinking like a chess player, I suspect that Obama is waiting for panic to reach critical mass. Then he can give FEMA more draconian power under an ‘Ebola Tzar’.

Crisis is ‘opportunity’. “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
Belittling panic? Perhaps a contingency, but not his dearest hope.

I think the best news ever would be if Obama caught Ebola. Bet he would regret his porous borders policy then.
You are forgetting that he decided to not visit the illegal “children” on our border, probably because he had been briefed on how infected THEY were. He and his family will be the best protected people in the country regarding Ebola.

Call your reps and tell them to shut immigration down from West Africa including people coming from other hubs, and to shut our southern border down.
We have to act now to stop this.
We can plainly see our fearless leaders do not have control of the situation.
The reps have to hear a groundswell from us.

All Republicans have to do is billboard everything with the saying, “60,000 illegals crossed our border and now we have Ebola. Thank you Democrats.”

The incubation period for this virus is 10 12 days and over the next two weeks we will see whether this is a crisis or a speed bump.
This guy from Liberia who flew to Dallas to see family: flew from Liberia to Brussels, from Brussels to London (Heathrow, world’s busiest airport) to Washington DC then from DC to Dallas, with a layover/plane change in each spot. Obviously, the guy had contact with other people IN OTHER COUNTRIES AS WELL !!
Is this a health crisis? Remains to be seen.
Waiting 10-12 days may be too late.
Already over 100 people were in contact with Patient Zero Duncan, including four kids in four DIFFERENT schools in the DFW area.
The CDC changes their information hourly.
So, I don’t have any confidence in what they are saying.
Britain and France have already shut down flights from West Africa.
So should we.
