The sister of the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States says he told relatives he notified officials the first time he went to the hospital that he was visiting from Liberia.

Mai Wureh says her brother, Thomas Eric Duncan, went to a Dallas emergency room on Friday and they sent him home with antibiotics.

In a news conference early Wednesday afternoon, Dallas ISD superintendent Mike Miles revealed that five children from four district schools were possibly exposed to the virus.

Miles identified the schools as:

Conrad High School Tasby Middle School Hotchkiss Elementary School Dan D. Rogers Elementary

The patient who was diagnosed with the Ebola virus was staying at a northeast Dallas apartment complex, according to a Dallas police spokesman.

Lt. Joel Lavender confirmed the patient was transported from the Ivy Apartments to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas on September 28.

Don't worry. This isn't spreading throughout the U.S. The US is completely safe from any global outbreaks of multiple viruses.

I don’t think someone named Thomas Eric Duncan is engaged in a suicide mission. Highly non-Islamic name from that part of the world.

Patient #1 is Black, non-citizen, entry status unknown, living with a gang of kin with also unknown entry / citizenship status. In a small apartment with as many as 12 relatives of whom half are children.

No insurance, ward of the state

Dallas County health manager is Black and can’t even speak decent English. “Let me be real frank to the Dallas County residents, the fact that we have one confirmed case, there may be another case that is a close associate with this particular patient,” said Zachary Thompson.

CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden is a long time CDC doc but worked for Bloomberg and is an Obastard appointee

This administration reeks of incompetence and the whole of the nation is polluted with EEO officials who have risen above their ability.

Adding to the elements of a disaster in the making is PC and liability run amok.

From Wikipedia:
Liberian Americans are Americans who are of Liberian descent. This includes Liberians who are of African American descent. It also includes the descendants of Americo-Liberian people in America.

1. The first wave of Liberians to the United States, after of the slavery period, was after of the First Liberian Civil War in the 1980s and, then,
2. after the Second Liberian Civil War in the early 2000s.

An estimated 100,000 Liberians live in the U.S. as of this time. The diplomatic relationship between Liberia and the USA goes back over 150 years since Liberia's foundation by returning African slaves freed by abolitionist societies which set aside land for the freedmen and paved the way to its independence.

=========================================

I had no idea.
I have a good friend in Texas and I always assumed that the black folk there (Texans leave off the plural "s" for some reason.) were American-born.

Maybe the Africans will bring some order to the AMERICAN blacks. The Africans are (or were) rooted in families...not "welfare" families.

.

OR, am I simply being a "Pollyanna" about it?

The apartments are in Dallas, Greenville & Fair Oaks area. It’s in an area with lots of low income housing.

It use too be a nice area, but now it is bad!

I used to have my birthday parties at Fair Oaks Park. Now, I avoid even driving through the area when I am visiting my mom.

True, mostly because "black Muslims" would effect a name change to something Muslim-sounding: أبله is a good one.
Bwahahaha! I made a funny.

The guy says he’s from Liberia, goes to the emergency room and tells them he is from a country with known Ebola cases, they send him home to an apartment complex with close neighbors. That does NOT increase my faith in the “system” they have in place to “protect the citizens”.

Your cynicism is well warranted.

A nation that strip searches white grannies at airports can't find the courage to quarantine travel to and from Ebola hell-holes.
