Dated a Swiss man a lifetime ago. Every man is required to serve in the armed forces and every man is issued a gun. Every man must spend 2 weeks a year in the service. I believe it was 18-45 years of age. Now, this was in the 80’s, so some things may have changed. Can you imagine our Government issuing a weapon to every man? PS-those mountains have boatloads of tunnels AND survival dormitories in them.

<>I should acknowledge that their current system is not exactly libertarian Nirvana since it mandates that households purchase a health insurance policy.

That's a huge point that is hidden in a P.S. The Swiss rejected single-payer, yes - but they rejected it in favor of their current system, which looks an awful lot like Obamacare.

It's beautiful there too!

Here's the Swiss valley that inspired J.J.R. Tolkein's Valley of Rivendell...

Hong Kong is in Red China. Red China and “awesome” don’t belong in the same sentence. And Singapore seriously restricts basic civil rights.

Good luck getting a visa to stay there long. They actually have immigration laws and enforce them.
