Yes, 21 days! But I expect there to be 5 persons infected there (not counting flightmates going to other countries) in Dallas, and maybe 1 or 2 dying.

Interesting that no Texas political luminaries have commented other than Dallas Mayor. Logistics would dictate a Houston case soon, and maybe there already is.

There is a clampdown on news about this, until other cases surface.

Since 1944 federal law has allowed for forced quarantine, by feds.

Sounds like this source could be legit.

So he flew through Brussels and Washington Dulles airport, according to the source. But the troubling thing is that he first presented with symptoms at the emergency room on the 24th, not the 26th.

If this is true, Yikes.

Supposedly a Nigerian nurse gave it to a patient before she showed any signs of having it. Most of what the news media is crap to keep panic at bay.

If I worked in an office, I don’t think that I would have a bright future if I hid my Ebola from them while finishing up a project, besides, the symptoms are pretty nasty for an office environment.

I can’t see many Americans thinking they are dying of Ebola and not wanting to get to the doctor.

I hear ya. Every year, we get the whole flu and west nile hype ... yet the same ones that hype that downplay ebola. It’s maddening.

I believe it is actually after 42 days of no infections, then you can say “all clear”.

If he presented on the 24th, then Friedman is a liar. He said the 26th. That is a big vectoring variance with big actuarial implications.

I seriously doubt that the society is able to enforce any restrictive public health measures

You can't keep coach passengers from using the first class bathroom. There's no way people will stay in quarantine.

And those military coming back from Africa. How many of them are going to stay celibate for two months?

Those six children and multiple adults, they probably sat next to the guy in the ER waiting rooms.

TWO ER waiting rooms.

According to local news, the patient was taken by ambulance and the Dallas city ambulance personnel who transported him are in quarantine, per the mayor of Dallas, Mike Rawlings

How about the next 14 people they transported in that ambulance? How about their spouses and kids who they kissed when they got off shift Sunday? Then those kids go to school and their wives go to work and...

Wow. .thanks for posting pen.

I’ve been working in a hospital for 3 years now (large- approximately. 2,000 patients) .. and when they sent the doc back from Africa to Atlanta we all received e-mails reassuring us and explaining Ebola etc. I began looking around my environment at work. .really looking. It’s remarkable how much I touch every day at work that has been touched by others..from a sink handle to the styrofoam cup my coffee comes in to the instruments and computers used commonly on the unit. To think of tracing back the people who have used and handled these items. ..what a task.

My greatest concern is the lack of trust any of us have in our institutions. I don’t know what I’ll believe in the next email we get. .

Exactly. That is very alarming, if it is true.

It is already troublingg enough that he presented at an emergency room, and they sent him home.
