A knife-wielding intruder allowed to run rampant through the first floor of the White House. Bullets that struck the window of Barack Obama's private residence but went unnoticed for days. A presidential bodyguard so drunk he passed out in hallway of a hotel.

These are just some of the recent incidents that have shaken confidence in the Secret Service, the elite agency assigned to protect Mr Obama, his family and the White House.

On Tuesday, Julia Pierson, the Secret Service's director, will face a grilling from members of Congress and a battle to convince them that her agents are up to the task of protecting the world's most powerful man.

The hearing was called after a September 19 incident, when the Secret Service allowed Omar Gonzales, a troubled Iraq war veteran, to scale the White House fence and go through the unlocked front door of the executive mansion.

I think the real question here....just how much should we expect out of Joe Biden if something bad happens? If you throw up this stupid scenario of Joe Biden as President.....man, that’s something I’d prefer not to see under any scenario.

There’s nothing that we can do about Biden being next in line, but he won’t be in charge any more than Obama is.

If the Secret Service is no longer functionally capable of protecting the President, it’s not of their making, but of the leashes that the President’s staff has placed on them.

In a more rational administration, the dogs would have been on him 20-30 feet inside the fence, and a sniper would have stopped him when he got within a specified distance of the White House. . .

The funny thing: our government is set up in such a way that he really is not all that important.

I still can’t get over the bizarre behavior of Biden in the debate with Paul Ryan. And the media ignored his obvious irrational behavior and comments. I think the reviews of that debate would have been very different, if a Republican candidate had behaved in the bizarre manner in which Biden conducted himself.

Biden may be the moron Mad Hatter and a left-wing progressive, but at least he is not an Islamic sympathizer down to his toenails.
