Jessa Duggar Criticized for Linking the Holocaust With Abortion
Life News ^ | 9/29/14 | Sarah Zagorski

The word “holocaust” is defined as the destruction or slaughter of people on a mass scale. Some pro-life people think its fair to say that the killing of over 57 million people through abortion fits the definition.

However, when Jessa Duggar from 19 Kids and Counting, linked the Jewish Holocaust with abortion on an Instragram Post, (see below right) some responded and said her statement was offensive.

Jessa wrote:

holocaust

“I walked through the Holocaust Museum again today… very sobering. Millions of innocents denied the most basic and fundamental of all rights—their right to life. One human destroying the life of another deemed ‘less than human.’ Racism, stemming from the evolutionary idea that man came from something less than human; that some people groups are ‘more evolved’ and others ‘less evolved.’ A denying that our Creator—God—made us human from the beginning, all of ONE BLOOD and ONE RACE, descendants of Adam.

The belief that some human beings are ‘not fit to live. So they’re murdered. Slaughtered. Kids with Down syndrome or other disabilities. The sickly. The elderly. The sanctity of human life varies not in sickness or health, poverty or wealth, elderly or pre-born, little or lots of melanin [making you darker or lighter skinned], or any other factor.

May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again,” she wrote. “Not this generation. We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS. #ProLife.”

While over 24,000 people liked her post, a few of her followers opposed it. One follower wrote, “Do not use the Holocaust as an excuse to preach about your religion. Abortion has nothing to do with the slaughter of millions of people. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Another added, “Please walk through the holocaust museum again because that is not at all what the holocaust was about. Have some respect for the children and grandchildren of survivors.”

In her post, Jessa Duggar is not downplaying the significance of the Jewish Holocaust; rather, she is saying that abortion is similar to it in that the unborn are marginalized because they are considered less than human. Also, she isn’t using her religion alone to make her point as one commenter wrote; instead she is arguing that unborn babies and the disabled have human rights just like the rest of us.

As LifeNews previously reported, this isn’t the first time a Duggar has spoken out against the abortion holocaust. In 2013, during the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit, Jim Bob Duggar said, “We have since 1973 (when Roe v. Wade was decided) had 55 million abortions, so what we have going on is a baby holocaust.”

I’ve noticed how pro-abortion people were themselves not aborted.

“Jessa Duggar Criticized for Linking the Holocaust With Abortion”

I cannot think of a more fitting comparison — What else would you compare it to.

Isn't it amazing how the Creator allows his light to shine through the darkness?

In America, all our constitutional protections rest on the Founders' premise that all human beings are "endowed by their Creator" with rights to both life and the liberty to "pursue happiness." That is the sole reason those rights are deemed unalienable--because they are derived, not from another human being, not from a government, not even from the mother, but from God.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them." - Thomas Jefferson

That understanding underlies every other consideration embodied in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. It is the very basis of our rights to life, liberty, and laws to protect them.

Since the 1970's, technological advances have enabled us to observe God's tiniest creations in the womb. We no longer have an excuse for imagining that these are blobs of tissue labeled "fetuses." They are living babies who will have life and liberty if we do not "destroy" them.

At the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC on February 3, 1994, Mother Teresa stated: “And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"

Indeed, if we cannot protect the life and liberty of these smallest versions of ourselves, even with their so-called "imperfections," then Mother Teresa's words take on significant meaning.

The comparison is apt, the only difference is the location of the victims.

Ironically, most Jews are in favor of legal abortion. They are their own worst enemies.

BTW...my wife loves the Duggar’s TV show. They represent a family very involved in the raising of thier children with thier Christian world views. I don’t really care what the world thinks of me for thinking this way.

****************************************

You are not alone! I am thoroughly enjoying watching the Duggars & their preparation for Jill’s wedding. In this society, they are SO old-fashioned .... but they are doing what families are supposed to be doing and protecting their children. They have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage, believe the aspects of a physical relationship should be saved for marriage, and are protecting their daughters until the time they are married. The little kids that go along as “chaperones” are hilarious (Derek serving hummus, figs, etc. to James, was it? He said the next time he agrees to chaperone, he’s checking what’s for dinner first!). I also thought it was touching that a couple of Jill’s sisters were along as chaperones and got to see Derek’s proposal - very sweet. Bottom line, I admire them for sticking to their beliefs and raising good, respectful, religious kids who will all be “givers” and not takers.

Remember, for liberals of all stripes, their liberalism/humanism is their primary religion,

followed by their “social club membership” in their secondary religion.

**It’s the SAME Holocaust and it’s governed by the same eugenic beliefs, all that has changed is the phraseology and the people committing the slaughter. **

G. K. Chesterton did that admirably.

Chesterton on birth control/population control:

In 1925 Chesterton wrote an introduction to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in which he said that “The answer to anyone who talks about the surplus population is to ask him, whether he is part of the surplus population; or if not, how he knows he is not.”

You know I realize that 6 million Jews were killed but there were 11 million killed altogether. What about respect for those people? Catholics, Gypsy’s the infirm. If you were not a Jew you don’t count?

Apparently Jews won the holocaust 6-5.

If you find that offensive, then you should also find offensive the view of certain Jews that they "own" the holocaust.

I had Serbian family members murdered at Jasenovac. I firmly stand against all genocide, not just that which benefits my sectarian views.

I used to work with a man who majored in German history. He said he liked to do a little experiment whenever he visited the country. He'd stop in a local pub, order a drink, and strike up a conversation with one or more of the local people.

Eventually the conversation got around to WWII and Hitler. My friend would buy a round, and everyone would agree that Hitler was a horrible man who should never have been allowed to come into power.

He'd buy another round, and then someone would say, yes, Hitler was a horrible man, but he did some good things.

By the third round, it was "By God, we need a man like Hitler again!"

Oh, did I mention? My friend was wheelchair bound.

“Do not use the Holocaust as an excuse to preach about your religion. Abortion has nothing to do with the slaughter of millions of people. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

That is a remarkably ignorant comment. The national socialist Third Reich, by the most sweeping estimates I have seen (RJ Rummel), killed between 15 and 20 million innocent people in death camps and other forms of deliberate mass slaughter. The international communist (yes, that's what we have become) United States of America have murdered more than 55 million people by abortion, and the slaughter continues.

The United States stomped the Third Reich into the ground, and was right to do so ... but then became worse than the Third Reich in the matter of government sanctioned mass slaughter.

I find the murder of 11 million souls there and then another 55 million souls here to be offensive. I agree all genocide is evil. No one group is more or less important.

I just wish that we could point that out more often. As for the Dugger girl, right on!

Agreed

And to get everyone's panties really in a bunch, she should retract the earlier statement, and then link abortion only to the non-Jewish portion of the holocaust.

If that sounds crazy, it's only because I'm pointing out the absurdity of the original "offended".

The only people offended are those who have had abortions that don't like to be reminded they are baby killers and are part of the worst holocaust in human history.

Bingo.

I don’t understand the response of the people who criticized Jessa. What could they have been thinking?

Unfortunately a minority of Jews and Christians react unthinkingly to anything they perceive stems from the others' religion, as if the two religions are utterly opposed instead of inextricably intertwined.
