ISIS Troops One Mile from Baghdad
Huntington News ^ | September 30, 2014 | Tony Rutherford

America’s Arabic coalition continues bombing ISIS targets in Syria, but the BBC and Independent both report that ISIS fighters are pushing into Baghdad, the capitol of Iraq.

“The Islamic State are now less than 2 km away from entering Baghdad,” a spokesman for the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation told UK’s the Independent , adding that al-Qaeda militants are bolstering their ranks.

The spokesman continued, “ They said it could never happen and now it almost has. Obama says he overestimated what the Iraqi Army could do. Well, you only need to be here a very short while to know that they can do very little.

According to a BBC correspondent a standoff continues along the main road to Fallujah, which remains under ISIS control.

However, ISIL and the Syrian offshoot of al-Qaida known as Jabhat al-Nusra (a.k.a. Nusra Front) , appear to be forming a loose coalition to fight attacks by the US and its allies, according to an Irish Independent report. (http://www.independent.ie/wd-news/middle-east/isil-within-mile-of-baghdad-despite-wave-of-us-air-strikes-30625580.html)

Despite the movement of these groups toward major cities in the Middle East, most American civilians and many active duty troops support air strikes, rather than committing boots to the ground, a Military Times survey indicated.

Slightly more than 70% of 2,200 active duty troops answered , “It’s their country, it’s their business,” when asked “In your opinion do you think the U.S. Military should send a substantial number of combat troops to Iraq to support Iraq security forces.” Among other reasons that troops disfavor increasing Iraqi troops are the weakness of the Iraqi government to stand on its own, the Obama administration has yet to commit to completely finishing the job, and, in the words of one soldier (representing a feeling that transcends the military), “We’re burned out.”

However, the U.S. embassy and diplomatic mission in Baghdad cover 104 acres. It is the largest in the world and cost $750 million dollars to construct. The embassy proves a base for about 5,500 Americans who live and work in the Iraqi capital.

According to WIKI the infrastructure at this embassy includes six apartment buildings for employees, water and waste treatment facilities, a power station, two major office buildings, a gym, cinema, tennis courts and an Olympic size swimming pool.

The compound is heavily fortified with reinforced structures and a large number of U.S. Marine Security Guards detached there.

What an intrusion into Baghdad by ISIS and their Sunni allies would mean for the embassy compound is unknown.

Lost cause. NEVER should we have tried to change Muslims or get involved with their wars. They aren’t worth it. Now we have to look out for the ones we have spreading their crap here.

Obama’s incompetence is truly breathtaking. The progressives/liberals/democrats literally screw up everything they tough. The should be truly thankful for the country’s generous welfare system, because if the parasites were not getting government handouts, there would be zero support for Obama and the democrats.

And here is the ONE thing no one wants to state: ISIS is gaining momentum because their ideology is consistent with their core doctrinal beliefs: and that gives Muslims of all stations in life: HOPE.

No different is this hope, than that of the Japanese infantryman, or the Kamakazi, that went to certain death in banzai charges, and suicide missions: because militarized Shintoism at that time, held that the Emperor of Japan was DEITY.

Let that sink in. In other words, service to the emperor meant they were going to be secure for eternity.

It’s on. God bless and protect the Americans there and the Army staff and Marines who are there to protect them.

The JV vs. the best in Baghdad and the PhD’s in D.C.? No contest. Now if the Khorasan were coming we might have to get some defensive coordinators over there…some Washington Redskins. The peaceniks of the “religion of peace” can handle the JV. 1 billion+ against 31,000 ragtag rabble rousers without uniforms and a game on the road? No contest.

Did you say 1 mile? No contest. Quit toying with them, peaceniks prevent defense.

Did you say 100 yds? They’re at the 50, 40, 30, 20…they might go all the way…

TOUCHDOWN JV!

Because of Odumbo’s overestimating and his underestimating, the Middle East is now a fustercluck.

Bombing doesn't work.

Bombing is just another form of artillery.

Artillery can disorient enemy formations and pin them down for destruction by infantry formations. It can destroy physical structures. It can kill lots of civilians.

Its use in combat INSTEAD OF infantry, against troops filled with blood lust and the drive to conquer, is a sign of cowardice, a positive motivational factor for the enemy, and it never works.

I see, yes, agreed. Wanted more info on your thoughts.

Then, the (expert) idiots who sell us their war efforts to supposedly destroy I.S. couldn't figure that out... tax payers money to 'kill lots of civilians'.. brilliant strategy!

Obama and his progressive pals flat burned our troops out as they pushed and pushed for ridiculous ROE’s that make no sense to anyone who ever led a squad to a company. Obama promoted the politicking ass kis-—. Our Generals have been planning on fighting the Soviet Union with mechanized infantry divisions and armored divisions every since the Infantry Officers Advanced Course went back to the cold war tactics of sweeping across Germany towards Russia in late 1972 to early 1973. I watched these damn mech infantry BN and BDE CO’s teach new LT’s to drive up and down MSR’s and other roads in Korea in 73-74. I could not believe my ears when I heard LT’s asking LTC’s how to map out their career to become BN CO’s when they could not even lead a damn platoon for the most part. The US military has had damn near as many hunks of track vehicles blown up in Afghan as the Soviets did. These damn ROE’s are probably causing more PTSD then actual combat is. Our Army is now a PC, MC, AA socially engineered outfit. FAGS getting married and no real chaplains.

It seems that these stories are all based on one report. I haven’t read anything more about the 1,000 soldiers being killed.

I don’t dispute its bad, but I am cautious about sending in the choppers yet.

We either put boots on the ground, or Baghdad falls. Obama’s true allegiance is being exposed.
