I watched the video and her cousin tried to do the same thing. He claimed $99 million in income. There was already a warrant out for his arrest.
I guess they’ve known for so long how easy it is to cheat the taxpayers that they thought they could get away with this one too.
They were just ignorant, thinking too big, they need to do what the successful ones do, send in hundreds of bogus returns from the same address and just wait for the checks to roll in.
The lady went to Kroger to cash it? She should’ve went to Wal-Mart. They would have cashed it.

Do people really do that?
Oh yeah people really do that, and what’s worse is the freakin idiots at the IRS send the money. These are those , you know, just people trying to make an honest living. You know the ones without a Social Security Card.
If I cheated the IRS of $20 they would be pounding at the door. Seems they only go after people that pay .... that and people that learn politically more to the right.
Or that aren’t name cisco, pablo, jose, rodriguez, etc. Racist? maybe, but I have seen way to much of it.
$94,000 and she probably would have gotten away with it. What a numb skull.
She would have needed a shopping cart to carry out all that money.

‘Kay thanks ...then the state didn’t have that much money.
Funny. When they called me to pick up my 94 Mil, I went right in, took it to Navy Federal with no issue. I wonder what is wrong with this woman....
Her cousin tried to do the same exact thing. I guess they thought they had figured out a fail safe scheme.
My belief is that they’ve gotten away for gaming the system for so long they figured nothing would happen to them if they got caught.
With a lot of nurturance and support from the government.

Bingo. And they may STILL get away with it. Don’t underestimate the dumb jury.
He cashed it, though. Now I have to cope with a drawer full of $3 bills.
I was surprised to learn my Kroger didn’t have $94 million to cash my check. I had to wait on the Brinks armored truck to arrive.

I was shocked to receive an IRS check for almost $2900 in June, with a letter explaining that I had made a mistake on my April tax return which resulted in me overpaying.
To all who have commented about going to Krogers to cash the check: The IRS had told the woman to go to a specific Krogers where there was a bank inside that would handle the check. That’s where they arrested her.

Seems they thought it was funny and wanted to make a big media event out of it.
