GOP cautions that Senate control would have limits
Associated Press ^ | Sep 28, 2014 1:33 PM EDT | Charles Babington

How much difference will it make if Republicans win the Senate majority on Nov. 4, joining the GOP-run House against a Democratic White House?

Congress’ persistent gridlock is due largely, but not entirely, to the current power split in the two chambers. But even if Republicans add Senate control to their safe House majority, big legislative roadblocks will remain.

President Barack Obama still can veto legislation.

Should Democrats lose six or more Senate seats, ceding the majority, they can use the power of the filibuster to thwart dozens of GOP initiatives. Republicans have employed this tactic from the minority side. …

The Republicans will reintroduce the Queensberry rules to Harry Reid's knife fight.

Odd, this particular report “from the GOP” (establishment - of course!)

Why would “they” release a public statement DECREASING or DECRYING their influence after the election IF they (the GOP) would get a majority?

Self-defeating - AGAIN- it is not? Or is that the intent?

A democrat “self-defeating”R stunt? “Wait guys! We are going to shoot ourselves in the foot if we get get elected!” way of discouraging repubbie voters AHEAD of the election as a democrat “stop the turnout” effort supported by Obama’s ABCNNBCBS pressed corpse?

The GOP had better make Whorehouse Harry look like a monk if they are the majority.

Play dirty, strike first, take no prisoners, and get an attorney general enen more sleazy, poorly educated, slimy, and crooked than Holder.

Oops, forgot, the Holderdork is as low as a human life form can go.

OK, almost as sleazy.

I remember the last time they had control of everything.

They didn’t do anything of lasting value back then, either.

FOGOP.

Because you got suckered in by a misleading headline by a liberal outlet trying to depress the conservative vote - and you fell for it hook line and sinker. READ THE DAMNED ARTICLE and stop ranting over a headline. The ONLY person they quoted with squishy comments was a DEMOCRAT. The Republican quotes were few, but they were not bad.

Your wait is now over.

El wrongo - at least in part: the Contract with America accomplished a lot. So good was it that Clinton was able to take credit for its successes in 96 against Dole/Kemp - and then take credit again launching Obama to re election in `12 - against Romney. Now I know you're going to bring up the Bush years, and you have a point, but the problem was they didn't want to oppose their own party's President. So 2000-2006 is a phony comparison.

Given their past performance under McConnell or only hope is he looses and someone with balls replaces him..

but it’s the GOPe, the replacement will be worse.

Tell me again how the stupid party is any better than the rat party..

It's very simple. Not super pleasant, but simple. Let's say someone wants you to walk from somewhere in the western U.S. to New York City and he gives you a choice of starting in either Los Angeles or Denver. Which would you chose? Los Angeles because you're pissed off they didn't include Newark in your choices? Or Denver because you can leave crappy Los Angeles behind you and you're hundreds of miles closer to New York?

Ah yes, the A$$ Press is already diminishing the importance of Republicans controlling both Houses.

Hey Babington, how about the fact 0bummer can no longer stack the federal courts with leftists?
