Woman Who Really Hates Mexican Flag Loses Her Job Over Hatred Of Mexican Flag

YouTube Video

A Southern California woman is out of a job and facing death threats after she used her cell phone to videotape an encounter with a homeowner over a Mexican flag flying in the homeowner’s front yard — and published the video on YouTube.

The woman, Tressy Capps, a political activist and a city council candidate in a town amid the Inland Empire’s endless suburbia, placed the video on YouTube on Aug. 11, 2014.

“Hello? Hi. Is that a Mexican flag in your front yard,” Capps asks, pleasantly enough, in the video.

The woman to whom she is speaking, Maria Banuelos, is standing behind a window. Banuelos doesn’t respond because she doesn’t speak English, reports CBS Los Angeles.

"You know we live in America right?” Capps then says. “This is the United States. So, why are you flying a Mexican flag in your front yard?”

She then suggests that the woman behind the window “move to Mexico if you want to fly your Mexican flag.”

The video indicates that the family has both the American and Mexican flags on display.

She made a political mistake.

She was running for city council and thought that she could make the video confrontation and use it to help her campaign. Being anti-illegal is always a vote getter.

But this backfired on her.

She has a real estate license. Coldwell Banker and other brokers don’t technically “fire” agents. Agents are independent contractors. You cancel the contract.

She can walk into another office and get on with them. They don’t pay you unless you close transactions. Many brokers would talk her, if there isn’t more baggage.

I sympathize with the sentiment but obviously its not politically astute to be so plain spoken these days.

We’re ethnic Hungarian and we fly the Hungarian flag on occasion. It’s the one without the USSR theme. I would have a problem though if she flew it higher than the American flag if she was doing so ...

“Woman Who Really Hates Mexican Flag”

*Her* hatred? She got death threats for expressing an opinion. Here’s my opinion: Anyone who wants to fly that stinking, narco-terrorist, lawbreaking rag in lieu of Old Glory can get the hell out and move back to Mexico.

But there’s the catch: The last thing that cholos pining for Ol’ Mesheeco want is to move back the s___-hole they climbed out of ... but they fly that rag when they prosper.

I think that was her point: they’re ingrates. Hateful ingrates.
F*** `em.

My family on my father’s side are Norwegian, in fact my father was born in Norway, came to the US (legally) when he was about six years old. But the only flag my father, who was also a decorated WWII US Army veteran, would ever fly was the American Flag. When someone would refer to him as a Norwegian-American, he would quickly correct them, telling them he was an American!

That’s not to say he wasn’t proud of his Norwegian ancestry, especially his Viking heritage, but my father was also an “America – Love it or leave it” sort of guy, very patriotic and well read on American history.

Interestingly my uncle, my dad’s younger who was born in the US was a bit more into the Norwegian heritage thing than my dad. He flew a small Norwegian flag from the deck of his beach house on LBI, NJ, but he also few a much larger American flag.

Homes around me routinely fly Irish or Italian flags and have been doing so for years.

No big deal.

OK, no sense getting totally upset. 1st we still have some freedoms left. I live in a neighborhood where NON citizens own homes. They “own” homes here but they live more than 6 months overseas. I see union jacks, German tri colors, Scandinavian Polish etc etc. (Yes they are mostly European, with the exception of those from Canada) Guess what?? They pay taxes!! They support the local economy. Best of all they make great neighbors. Seeing different colored cloth blowing in the breeze doesn’t get me upset.

Does this mean that they help to social-engineer "non-diverse" (code word for majority-white) neighborhoods?

It frosts me to see someone fly, carry, or paste a decal of the Mexican flag here in the U. S.

These people came here for a reason. They supposedly knew they could succeed here. Thus they recognized our system of governance and economic prosperity to be better than Mexico’s.

They come here, they leech off our system, and then remain a Mexican loyalist. It beats anything I’ve ever seen.

If they turned this into a Mexican territory, what makes them think it wouldn’t turn into the Mexico they escaped from?

I believe these people were born with decent minds. I believe they were deprived of a decent education. It still seems to me they would forever be appreciative of the system of governance that provided them a chance.

Instead they are rude, disrespectful, and always willing to game our system to take take take take...

Sorry folks, but even the good ones have their hands out as soon as they step one foot on our soil. There are success stories to be sure, but they gamed our system from get-go to achieve what they have.

We don’t get that hand up. Why should they?

I am a loyal U. S. Citizen, and it angers me to see our nation and it’s citizens abused in this manner.

You are right. This wasn’t using good judgment. In fact, it was terrible judgment.

I don’t approve of singling Mexican nationals out to publicly humiliate them.

Our government should be doing it’s job. If anyone deserves to be publicly humiliated, it would be Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama for not honoring their oath of office.

They and the INS should have been forced to do their jobs according to the laws of our nation.

I agree that the mexican woman shouldn't have been singled out for public ridicule in that manner. But what complicates this matter for me even more, DO, is that the 9th circuit court a few days ago said in effect it is legal for a school to prohibit students from the wearing of an image of the US flag.

A different situation, but still a remarkable contrast.

This will not go on indefinitely. Something will give one day.

I agree with you. That Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling was horse stuff. You can tell citizen they’re rabble for wanting to show the U. S. Flag, but you can’t tell anyone it’s wrong to show another nation’s flag.

This multicultural vent and internationalist view, has totally swamped our nation.

Our values are trashed, our loyalty is trashed, our rights are trashed, the citizens of other nations get more respect than we ever did.

And they only make up about 12% of our populace. The other 88% get no respect at all.
