Scroll down to his homemade Schlotsky's recipe. I'm having one right now, yum! The only tweeking I've done is adding 1/4 C flour to the dough so it makes 6 buns, don't bother with cornmeal and use all purpose flour which is cheaper than bread flour. The genoa salami is eliminated because it's not sold here but it isn't missed taste-wise. I can make 5 sandwiches for the same cost as 1 Original 6" store bought sandwich. Actually, that was years ago prices so I bet that extra 6th sandwich could be added so 6 of the homemade version would equal 1 bought. The recipe is written more complicated than needed and is really so super simple.

I have tried several of his recipes and he is a “good cook”.

Of course when am able to produce a reasonable facsimile of the Schlotsky, McDonald, or others product at home, I feel liberated from the fast food joints and their prices. I can have it both ways, my way or theirs at my convenience.
