Yep. I might as well be an only as my sibling lives far away. After my father died, I tried to take care of my mom in our home, but her mobility issues made it impossible. She’s now in an assisted living place and I visit every other day and call her daily. Sure, it’s eating up her savings, but that’s what she and my dad saved for all their lives. It’s her money and it’s for her care.
Stories like these make me sick to my stomach. Whatever happened to honoring and LOVING your parent?

If they want to end it, why not buy a ticket to West Africa, help in the isolation wards, and have a really good chance of going out doing something good. (they might even change their minds).
