having nude models in schools is stupid
About sixty years ago a friend of mine at UWis.-Madison was taking an art course wherein a nude model was one of the objects employed. So, what’s the big deal?
Artists have been drawing, sculpting, and painting nude models of both sexes for millennia. How otherwise do you suggest art students learn how to accurately represent the endless complexities of human musculature, skeletal frame, skin color and texture, movement, and attitude? There is no substitute. Photos won't do it.
Presumably art students at a university are adults. There is no sexual component to the models' poses. It's pretty clinical.
Oh grow up. It's a university art class - nothing else needs be said.
What was stupid was the university canceling the class. Ten to one it was to appease Muslims after being perpetrated by Muslims in the first place. After all, it's freaking Oregon, where liberal political correctness has replaced their State constitution.
