Brian Howard, 36, of Naperville has been charged with one felony count of Destruction of Aircraft or Aircraft Facilities after he allegedly set a fire in the basement of an Aurora FAA facility, cut the feeds to the radar and damaged the communications system, forcing a ground stop at Chicago's O'Hare and Midway international airports, the FBI says.

Investigators say Howard managed to do extensive damage to the host computer, as well as the lines to radar in the facility. The Air Route Control Center monitors high altitude aircraft before landing in Chicago or flying through the area.

It seems like a coordinated attack that shut down control towers and radar stations in high density air traffic cities would do major damage and possibly cost the lives of thousands of people on airplanes flying blind.

Usually a small cigar emptied out and stuffed with marijuana.

As per the Urban Dictionary :

Blunt

Cigar hollowed out and filled with marijuana, can be smoked in public (somewhat) inconspicuously.

Montel was sittin' on the porch all day, sippin' his 40 and smokin' blunts.

I knew an Italian sergeant in the Marine Corps and he'd refer to a blunt as an "Italian Woody".....

After this warning
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3208299/posts
We get this official response..
Look into this clown’s background ! A contract player doing maintainence on a remote key air control for the center of the US computer radar relay installation. With no redundant(backup) protection and apparently minimal security.

Attempts suicide while knowingly destroying a centralized air control computer system. While I won’t fault the local cops for that statement because they wouldn’t be in a position to do background checks. I wonder if we’ll ever get the honest answer from a dishonest regime or if the media (burn them all down s/)will cover this up as well.

(after translating your comment with my FR secret decoder ring....)

Sure. But what was his point ? WHY did he sabotage the radar ? It didn't cause any plane crashes. It did no harm to any person. Why was he trying to kill himself afterward ?

Yet, no planes crashed, no one died.

No, this isn’t a Muzzie attack. This is a troubled man incident. He was unhappy he was being transferred. My guess is because his family lived in the area and he didn’t want to go. Being messed up psychologically already he took it out on his employer. Mark my words, I smell it, just as I smelled Muzzie in OK because workplace violence offenders just don’t behead their fellow employees. Shoot them yes, behead them no.

Interesting timing.

The season opener of the show Scorpion on Monday of this week involved a bug being hacked into the so-called flight control computers at LAX, preventing 56 airplanes from landing.

Why that would actually be the case on a VFR day is beyond me, but it’s Hollywood.

But still....did Howard watch this show?

Did life then imitate art?
