Starting this year, applicants to Northwestern University's graduate school will be asked about their sexual orientation..
The optional question asks whether applicants consider themselves to be members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community.
The aim of the question, The Graduate School stated in announcing it, is to gain a clearer understanding of the school's community to better serve all in the school.

Some people in grad school are married or at least have a steady significant other, maybe they want to know what significant other is coming to say, a party or something? I really can’t make much sense of it.
So, the next generation of Senator Dances-with-Fractions a/k/a Fauxahontas a/k/a WarHen will be straight members of the LGBT groups at NU?
“Questioning community” - The biggest question I have is whether Northwestern University is still a real university.
