Fed up with the GOP Establishment? That's no reason to stay home on Election Day
American Thinker ^ | 9/26/2014 | Carol Brown

With the mid-term elections weeks away, many conservatives are confronting a difficult choice. Assuming there are no solid conservatives on the ballot, do we vote for establishment candidates? Or not vote at all?

The reasons why some conservatives are on the fence or planning not to vote are well known. (And Democrats are loving every minute of it!)

I share these frustrations.

I had not seen that poster but it says it all.

I try to inform people about those ads at every opportunity. They also ran radio ads accusing the McDaniel/Tea Party of Racism, but I know of no practical way to get that information across to people.

This election is not just about winning the Senate but about vindicating the despicable tactics used by the GOPe aristocrats. If they should win those seats, they will use that victory as justification for their tactics. Your comments are head on.

If they get away with it during this election, other candidates will use the same tactic during the next election two years from now. People don't realize it, but the Tea Party is fighting for it's life, and if these ads are successful, the Tea Party AKA Reform movement is over.

I won't vote for socialists, communists, liars & hypocrites.

And I never again vote for anyone simply because of their party affiliation.

I don’t think Obama is going to nominate Holder to the Supreme Corurt. If he did, then Holder would be required to answer a lot of questions about Fast and Furious and the IRS scandal and the hearings could be a huge embarrassment to Obama. Obama has been using Holder’s stonewalling to protect him for the last 5 years.

My guess is that Holder will go on a nice long vacation away from the subpoena power of Congress and disappear until after the 2016 elections.

Bernadette Dorn stands a better chance of being nominated than Eric Holder.

It’s going to be a black female. Obama has a thing for nominating bleeding heart liberal women.

No, it's not nonsense. Obama will issue the EO's right, left and center and the EPA will shut down business dramatically thru radically increased mandates.

He's doing that now, and will continue to do so with a Republican Senate.

Next argument.

The greens and gays will be encouraged to continue their agenda and there will be more oppression of religious groups.

And Traitorous Rinos are going to do something about this? Nonsense.

Next argument.

This is what Obama and Reid are all about. If you can't oust Reid now this movement will never be ousted.

Please. Two more RINO Senators are not going to do much of anything different. Obama's nominees will still get confirmed with Republican Senate votes, Obama's reckless spending will continue with Republican Senate votes. Obama will keep issuing his EOs and Republican Senators will do nothing to stop him.

With Mitch McConnell as Republican Senate leader, we might just as well have Harry Reid. McConnell has made himself the leader of the anti-reform movement, and not only is he expendable, it is detrimental to allow him to remain in any position of power.

McConnell is a threat to reform. Harry Reid is not. He's an advertisement for it.

I bow to your greater wisdom in that area.

Now that Reid has exercised the nuke option, though, can’t he just dispense with the early stages and go right to the vote?

A statement of a modern-day Sun-Tzu.

If only more people realized how this game needs to be played.

For those Biblically minded, I will point out this.

2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

6And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

It's not your numbers, but what sort of men you send that matters.

Obama's nominees will still get confirmed with Republican Senate votes,

No, Obama nominees are already backing out because it looks like they will have to be confirmed by a GOP Senate.

But if Reid wins Holder will be SC Justice because only 51 votes will be required.

He's doing that now

Not the kind that give him 3 terms in office, declare martial law, nationalize businesses.

Obama will consider it an OK for him to accelerate his dictatorship is Reid if empowered further. He knows Reid will block all impeachment proceeding despite what he does so deeper entrenchment will take place. But you will continue to blame the GOP rather than Obama for "doing nothing".

WTF?! The GOPe is employing some real F’ing geniuses to troll the boards these days...

Why Is The Chamber Of Commerce Supporting Amnesty?

The national chamber is one of the nation's loudest advocates for amnesty for people who broke the law entering the U.S. Chamber President Tom Donohue even went so far as to warn the Republican Party on May 12 not to bother running a candidate for president in 2016 absent support from the congressional GOP for immigration "reform," a term that has become synonymous with amnesty in recent months.

Im not sure I made it clear I was agreeing with you. I find it hard to believe that the the GOPe troll actually used that as an argument to vote FOR the GOPe... /boggle

There is a serious flaw in your argument. The GOPe has done nothing to stop the Obama dictatorship. Boehner could have accepted the Cruz challenge and showed some political courage, but he didn’t because he is a coward and his own position is more important to him than the welfare of our country. Neither Boehner nor any Republican Senate will do anything to stop Obama. They just want their turn at the plunder and the enjoyment of being an elitist.

You seem to think cowards will act with courage when that is the least concern to them. They want their loot and they think it’s their turn.

I wasn't clear on your meaning. I figured that if you agreed with me, you wouldn't mind me posting a bit of evidence, and if you didn't agree with me, you needed to see that bit of evidence.

It's best to play things so that your decisions work out well regardless of which way something falls. Not always possible, but good when you can figure out a way to do it.

To those who think getting rid of Reid is so Critical, I would say McConnell should have thought of that before he stabbed conservatives in the back.

Obviously McConnell doesn't think it is so important or else he would not have started a war with his own base. Since he felt that a Democrat in Mississippi is better than a Reformer, I say we should give him that Democrat for whom he risked that safe Senate seat.

Loss of a Republican Senate seat in Mississippi needs to be on McConnell's head. Not on anyone else's.

I believe P-M makes a valid point about Holder’s criminal activities and knowledge of 0bama and thugs.

I’ve read that the current nuclear option doesn’t apply to SCOTUS nominees but of course it’s possible Reid could attempt to change that. If so there would be outrage and time wouldn’t be on his side.

UNLESS....they win the Senate again.

Reid used the nuke option over judges once. He'll do it again. The only reason it doesn't apply to Scotus is because Reid said so. The nuke is a fairly simple process of a majority rules vote, iirc. It can be done at any time, and it can be done fairly easily and quickly.

We are not staying home. David Perdue will be a better Senator than Sam Nunn’s daughter. Nathan Deal will be a better Governor than Jimmah’s grandson.

Thanks, I didn’t realize it was only because he said so.

If they keep control of the Senate a lot of bad things are going to happen in the last two years of 0bama, I shudder to even think about it.

I pledge to support GOPe candidates with the same intensity as Richard Lugar “worked” for Richard Mourdock and Lisa Murkowski “worked” for Joe Miller in Alaska. Payback is a bitch

And how do you KNOW that the posters were not a double-barreled Democrat “dirty trick” directed at BOTH McDaniel AND Cochrane?

Because the Dems said the posters were Cochrane’s FAULT?

And YOU believed them?

BTW, how’s your “cheap” Obama-care working out?

Your Bosses in the GOPe are going to find out that this doesn't work any more.

Its over.

WE ARE DONE

I doubt even offering up Mitch and Thads "heads" (politically speaking) will even make a difference.. However, lets see them make that offer if they genuinely "care" about something other than their own power.

Hint: Not gonna happen
