Amen.
Even the title sequence of the series (Which is called “Apocalypse WW1) states :
“The World we live in now...
Was formed then...”
100 year hindsight.
(I highly recommend this series. After a lifetime of seeing scenes from WW1 in jerky, hazy B&W, it is absolutely startling to watch these digitally remastered, colorized, and speed-corrected film. What is amazing is the humanity in the faces of the soldiers. I was actually glad for the commercial interruptions, so I could breathe!)

I’ve watched several episodes of WW1 in color; even Mrs. henkster finds it interesting.
The war was the beginning of the decline of western civilization. Europe never really recovered from it. And it gave us the gift of communism/fascism/statism, which has found a home here.
But I digress; this a coffee canteen. Hope you have a good day today.

I was reading a book about the stories behind all the Beatles songs when I got your ping. You always seem to send out the ping and head to bed when I’m invited to the cafe. So “Hello Goodbye” just naturally popped into my head.
And now would be a good time to sing “Good Morning Good Morning” from Sgt. Peppers.
Did you know John Lennon got his idea for that song from a Kellogg’s Corn Flakes commercial?

Another bit of significance of the 26th is that we are now 90 days out from Christmas. I expect to see eggnog in Wal~Mart any day now.
Oh...and it’s my birthday, too.
Have a great day, Kathy!

Good morning, henkster ((HUGS))
I had no idea that Lennon got his Good morning song from Corn Flakes commercial.
Really, I don't know all that much about their "Sgt. Peppers" era...I was partial to their earlier work.

Good morning PRO ((HUGS))
I heard about the RedSkins loss. I don’t know the score but heard it was a BIG loss. Of course, hubby turned it off and went to bed before it got really bad. Even his college teams have sucked lately. Hope yours are doing better.
No big plans this weekend. Some R&R and a visit on Sunday.
Enjoy your R&R and games.
