House Speaker John Boehner put comedienne Joy Behar in a headlock this weekend while in the Hamptons campaigning for Republican Lee Zeldin, telling the liberal former co-host of The View, “I am Obama’s best friend."

Boner’s statement is 100% correct. Satan’s greatest gift to 0bama is a feckless, inarticulate GOPe opposition.
It has been hinted before that Boehner is a drinker. And drunks say the darnedest things. Most of our politicians are sots because the liqueur high quality, readily available and affordable (it is free compliments of the American tax payer). These idiots attend loads of parties on Capital (oops I meant Capitol) hill where they drink excessively and brag about what they know to people whom they shouldn’t. They have become mostly a bunch of free loaders. Vote them all out when we have the opportunity and we should start charging them food and beverage costs.

But a quote like that -- assuming it's genuine -- could have been said in a variety of different ways with different meanings.
Ironically, for example. Or in the sense that if you always stop somebody from doing stupid things then you are their "best friend," even if you don't particularly like each other.
But who's going to stop Boehner from doing stupid things?

This reads like a tempest in a teacup. Boehner wasn’t partying with Maude Behar. She confronted him as he left a restaurant.
He was on a campaign trip for a Congressional candidate. I don’t see anything sinister.

Zeldin is an underdog. I think it is good Boehner is out trying to help underdog candidates this cycle....it says something about Republican chances of increasing their majority.

Oh thanks for that....some one here actually ‘gets it’. The GOP isnt our friend. Yet any number of republican fan boys will lecture us about how much better they are than dems. Really? Explain how, please. Theyll go on and on about how, relatively speaking, the GOP is ‘better’. The operative word is relatively. In fact theyre no diff than the dems exc in matter of degree and sometimes its hard to discern a diff in that. When is evil not evil? Guess theyve taken a page from Whoppe’s rape rape thing...
