May I ask who your first/ second choices would be?

I have seen (and worked with) several politicians who I think would be better presidents than Cruz, but they are either not running or not electable. Palin and DeMint come to mind in those categories. I don't think Huckabee can get the nomination, so I haven't seriously considered whether he would be better than Cruz; at best, he could split the conservative vote and guarantee a RINO nomination. I don't think Rand would be good - he'd be right 90% of the time and dreadfully wrong the other 10%. West would do the job well, quite possibly better than Cruz, but I don't think West is electable, not when after eight years of an affirmative action occupant in our White House he would be openly criticized for being what no one would say in public that Obama was.

I know Jeb would not satisfy our conservative ideals, but in order to win the Presidency you have to have a certain smoothness and charisma about yourself.

At least with that criteria, Jeb could handle the spotlight and the lashing the mainstream media is going to throw upon him.

I can’t say that about many of the other possible candidates.
