Weapons procurement showed striking reductions from last year’s plans. Then, the Navy planned to buy 980 Tactical Tomahawks, the primary cruise missile in use throughout the fleet. The new plan shows only 100 missiles in 2015 and none thereafter.

The reduction reflects shifting investment to a new next-generation land attack weapon, said Lt. Caroline Hutcheson, a Navy spokeswoman at the Pentagon, who also noted that the current inventory of Block IV Tactical Tomahawks exceeds combat requirements. A recertification line for existing missiles will be established to retain effectiveness of current TacToms, she added.

IIRC, Bush said something to that effect on why he would use a one to take out a empty tent.

I really don’t see where cruise missiles were needed in this strike. Seems that Syrian radar was turned off so and the Syrian air force grounded so there was little danger to invading aircraft.

My thought as well.. The ONLY thing ‘transparent’ about the Obama administration is information the disclosure of which HARMS America’s ability to defend herself.

The production capability isn’t so much a question as the procurement process (FY buys) and the political will of the DoD, Congress and obummer to restock.

47 missiles to kill 17 camels, 23 goats, one herder, destroy four tents, and one overly used outhouse, or bedroom whichever it is being used as at the moment. The one herder was 78 years old and had only a bow and three arrows.

Need more of these—we need cheaper weapons too. Open some new factories to make these flying torpedos.

While they don’t increase the military budget and leave the other parts struggling. Obama needs to think about this crap. Giving troops that are deployed pink slips, can’t afford you, sorry and yet he wants to buy more missles and not up the military budgets. What an a$$

“Obama needs to think about this crap.”

He has. It doesn't fit his ideology. It's like asking Jane Fonda to coordinate a strong foreign policy.
